THE SOCIETY FOR THE PROPAGATION OF THE FAITH ARCHDIOCESE OF NEW YORK
1011 First Avenue New York, NY 10022
(212) 371-1000 ext. 2704 www.faithadny.org
Dear Father Travers: Thank you very much for the generous World Mission Sun-day contribution of $2,337.00 from the people of Holy Child Church.
On World Mission Sunday, your parish community joined with Catholics throughout the world to “celebrate the hope that saves” - the hope that is our Lord Himself. And they fulfilled, in prayer and sacrifice, the Lord’s command to be His witnesses “to the ends of the earth.”
Know that you and your parishioners remain in our prayers - and in the prayers of the people of the Missions.
Sincerely in Christ,
Msgr. Marc J. Filacchione
Archdiocesan Director

DECEMBER 11, 2016
13 Shopping days until Christmas
HEARTS OF LOVE
Crocheted hearts were hand crafted by the Ladies of The Prayerful Mantle Society. Cre-ated as mementos of the 15th Anniversary of 9-11, they were distributed during the Me-morial Mass to Holy Child parishioners present who were bereaved by that indisputable act of terror. Many more than needed were produced. The Gift Shop has taken the surplus supply into inventory. They are lovely keepsakes in their own right and could adorn a dressing table or even hang on a Christmas tree. The requested donation, proceeds from their sale, will be used by The Prayerful Mantle Society to buy yarn with which the ladies make stocking hats, scarves, blankets and throws for people in need.
JEWELRY , ORNAMENTS & CARDS
Our Jubilee Year climaxed with the Anniversary Mass and Gala in the Spring. Nonethe-less, it is still 2016 by the calendar. Before the page is turned to 2017, a reminder that the Gift Shop still has a line of bracelets, chaplets and pendants featuring the image of The Holy Child. These were custom designed with the collaboration of Frank Napoli-tano and Marie Langelotti for Holy Child’s Jubilee Year. The shop still has many Holy Child Jubilee Christmas Ornaments which make for a fond remembrance hanging from a branch of your Christmas tree. Also, there are Holy Child Christmas cards created by the late Lori Benemerito, which make for a lovely greeting.
SEASON’S GREETINGS
A benefit of patronizing our gift shop is that the shopkeeper will wish you
“Merry Christmas” without reservation.
Father Travers
