SEPTEMBER 17, 2017
FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
Those who contribute to the upkeep of the parish by means of the envelope system will notice in the most recent mailing of envelopes that there is one no longer appearing. It is the Parking Lot Envelope. There is a good reason for its disappearance.
I am happy to announce that due to the generous contributions via that envelope and other sources, the parking lot loan of $590,189 has been paid off.
Thanks are due to all who pitched in over the past three years to bring the loan debt down to zero.
But even in light of this grateful good news we see that the sidewalks on the property continue to deteriorate. We have been taking measures since this problem appeared. What has become ever more obvious with the passage of time continues to take time to resolve; what is readily apparent cannot be solved in a day.
It must be understood that examination, analysis, consultation and collaboration to resolve any issue is of necessity time consuming. The sidewalk situation is no exception to this rule.
We continue to make progress on this front with confidence that in due course our sidewalks will be restored to their pristine state with the original expectation of permanence.
All the same, that goal does not diminish the relief of putting our parking lot drive in park.
Father Travers
