The children will be singing two songs on

Sunday, December 20th for the “10b4” for

both the 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. services.

(“10b4” is the ten minutes prior to the start

of each service.) The children will

practice during Sunday mornings—no

special practice times are scheduled.

Children will need to arrive by

8:30 a.m. on December 20th.

Elementary age children will need to go to

the Kids’ Worship Center,

and preschoolers will need to be

taken to the Tree House.

Adult CM workers will then

direct the children to the sanctuary.

We’re looking for 25-30 children (ages K-5th grade) to play hand bells in two of the services

prior to the Christmas musical. The children will be performing ten minutes prior to the

6 p.m. services on Saturday evening, Dec. 19th and Sunday evening, Dec. 20th.

Children in the hand bell choir will need to arrive 45 minutes prior to both services.

So far, we’ve raised $293.43! We’re less than $100 from reaching our goal. If we surpass our goal, we’ll purchase another animal (lamb, pig or goat) so that we

can bless another family!

If you’ve not had the opportunity to interact with Tammy Byrd, then you need to add it to your “MUST DO!” list! Tammy is an amazing, energetic woman who truly LOVES our children! Tammy credits her grandparents for showing her the love of the Lord and praying for her. In 2005, her

grandparents’ prayers were answered when she gave her heart to Jesus. Since then, she has been devouring the Word and seeking ways to share her love of Jesus with others.

This month, we honor Tammy as our Elementary Volunteer of the month. Tammy currently teaches our 4th and 5th grade girls. She has a servant’s heart and a passion to teach. Her love of God’s word is so evident in her teaching. She is faithful in her pursuit of God’s truth and determined to share that with our students in a way they’ll understand. We’ve been both blessed and challenged by her commitment to bring God’s word to life. She faithfully prays asking God to give her ideas to help our children get “IT.”

In addition to teaching, Tammy loves God’s wonderful outdoors. She is always looking for ways to incorporate the outdoors into her teaching. Know that if your child is in her class, they are being well taken care of. If you should see Tammy this month, bless her with a thank you!!!

I am SO excited about Christmas—It’s Almost Here! Each week in

December in the TREEHOUSE, we will have a different segment

of the Christmas Story. Our focus will be answering the question,

“How do we know God loves us?” and the answer is in our Monthly Memory Verse

Did you know that One of the Best Christmas Presents you can give your child is

for them to see you involved in their lives at church? If you have been enjoying a

Small Group and an adult Service on Sunday mornings, the new semester starting

in February would be a great time to Jump-in and Serve! You can help lighten the

volunteer load for those who have been ministering to our children. Just pick an

age group to volunteer twice a month during one of the services.

In the TREEHOUSE, we generally have about 70 kids—but only 25 of these

children’s parents volunteer in children’s ministry! Won’t YOU be a part of pour-

ing into these children’s lives? What you will receive will completely outweigh

what you give! After all, at Christmas, don’t we want to teach our children

about giving!? You won’t believe how Good you will feel when you see a child

LIGHT UP because YOU got involved in their world! You can e-mail me at

Merry Christmas! I have been listening to Christmas music since November 15th. When I tell people that, I usually get one of two responses. The first is usually, “Are you nuts?” They aren’t ready for Christmas either financially or physically. They see the cost monetarily of getting and giving the gifts and then the cost of physically putting up all the decorations. Either way, they are less than thrilled about “doing Christ-mas.” The second response, which happens occasionally is, “You too! I love Christmas”. These people aren’t usually looking at the financial or physical cost. They are more into the experience of Christ-mas- the sights, sounds, smells and even the tastes. They don’t relegate Christmas to one month— they experience it year round. I wonder how Mary and Joseph felt about that night. They probably didn’t have a clue about how this child would change their lives...let alone the world. Were they looking at the cost of Jesus’ birth and the physical toll it would have on them? Maybe, but either way, they experienced a new birth that night. They didn’t decorate the stable nor did they shop for gifts for each other. They simply sat in wonder of this great and magnificent new child that God had given them. How about you? Are you focused on the price tag of Christmas? Do you see this glorious holiday as a lot of work that will leave you exhausted on December 26th? Maybe this year when someone asks you, “What do you want for Christmas?” you simply respond, “I want a Christmas experience.” That is the gift that is uniquely designed by God specifically for you. It is one of a kind. You see Jesus birth in a whole new way. Your life is changed forever. Lord, would you help our families experience your birth in a new way this season. Help them not to see the money in Christmas, but the stable. Help them to see not the hustle and bustle, but the quiet night of your birth. Help them to enjoy one another’s company and to celebrate peace that was given to every man that night. Amen. Pastor Grant Beecher Children and Family Ministries
