It’s time for Spring Cleaning! On Saturday, May 16th, the Bunkertown Brethren Church’s Relay for Life Team will be holding their annual yard/bake sale at the church. If there are any items that you wish to donate for this fundraiser, please let Jason or Kim Stuck know and/or drop them off at the church, in the Family Life Center, beginning Wednesday evening, May 13th. You do not need to price the items because we will be asking for people to pay through a monetary donation.

We will be setting up for the yard sale May 13th through May 15th after 5pm each day so if you wish to help, please feel free to do so, and any help on Saturday from 8am-2pm will also be greatly appreciated. This has been a vital fundraiser for our team, and we couldn’t have done it in pre-vious years without everyone who donated items and helped to work. All proceeds will go to help find a cure for cancer through the American Can-cer Society. If you wish to pick up any of your belongings after the yard sale, please be at the church by 1:30pm on May 16th. We will be donating all remaining items to the Labor of Love Thrift Store in Middleburg. All proceeds from the thrift store support the By Grace Women’s Transition-al Home as well as other local needs.

We will be having a sandwich sale in April to help raise funds for the relay team. More details to follow.

The Relay for Life event will be at Derry Township Park on Saturday, June 13th from 10am-10pm. We will be placing a sign-up sheet in the nar-thex of the church for anyone that is interested in walking. The event re-quires that we always have a team member on the walking trail during this 12-hour period (this will be the first year that the event will not be over a 24-hour period). Again, we’ve appreciated your willingness in the past to help support the team through your physical and financial support. Our goal is to raise $5000 this year. If you are a cancer survivor, there is a sur-vivor ceremony, meal, and other activities throughout the day that are done to honor you and any caregivers. Anyone who prefers not to walk but would rather visit us and experience the activities that go along with the event, please feel free to come visit us on Saturday at Derry Township Park. This year’s theme is the 80’s era so you can relive those styles, mu-sic, and fads while helping to fight cancer. We’d love to see you there!
