Camphill Holywood What does Camphill Holywood do?

Camphill Community Holywood was born out of an intention to build

community together and provide opportunities to adults in a holistic,

supportive environment. Co-workers work together with people with adults

with learning disabilities and other needs in our workshops and within our

residential care houses.

Our integrated workplaces, in Holywood, provide spaces in which people can

learn new skills, develop existing skills. Together we participate in an

endeavour that combines the worlds of retail, hospitality and commerce with

a supportive social, cultural and educational experience.

The workshops also provide a space in which awareness of global and

environmental issues such as promoting rights, the benefits of healthy living,

responsible consumerism, wholefood, vegetarian and alternative lifestyles.

Because we are public-facing, we are able to engage with the local

community in Holywood and Belfast showcasing Camphill life and the talents

Bakery

Location: 8 Shore Road, Holywood

Available Spaces: 1-2

Days: Monday to Friday 10am-2pm.

Tasks: Production of cookies, cakes, and other baked goods.

This is perfect for a person who requires a quiet space and enjoys doing practical creative tasks with their hands.


Cooking


Available Spaces: 1-2 people per

session

Days: Mondays - Fridays 10am –

1pm.

Tasks: Preparing vegetables, cooking

vegetarian soups.

This is perfect for someone who

wants to take tentative steps

towards learning catering skills.


Shop/Cafe

Currently suspended due to COVID-19


Available Spaces: 1-2 people per session

Days: Tuesdays - Fridays 9-5

Tasks: Preparing vegetables, cooking vegetarian soups.

This is perfect for someone who is sociable and hopes to develop retail and hospitality skills.


Packaging and Labelling Workshop


Available Spaces: 1-2 people per session.

Days: Wednesday 10am – 1pm.

Task: Packaging dry goods, designing and

creating labels, pricing, weighing.

This workshop is perfect for someone who

would like to start to learn retail skills and

to socialise with others.


Wellbeing

Location: Holywood, Co. Down

Available Spaces: Maximum 3 persons per

session (may be increased in the future)

Activity: Yoga sessions adapted to suit all

ages and abilities; craft activities followed

by lunch. Sessions may be held outdoors or

indoors, weather permitting.

This is perfect for adults who enjoy social

tasks and a gentle environment with

relaxing activities.
