Do you love horses and want to know more about them? Then the Horse Project group is the perfect place for you to be! 4-H offers many opportunities for horse-enthusiasts to learn more about equine, compete in fun events, and make life-long friends. Don’t own a horse? No worries! These events do not require horse ownership. The information meeting will be held on Thursday, September 20 at 6:30 p.m. Location will be deter-mined on the next newsletter! Be on the lookout!

Calendar! TIMBER!!! Do you want to learn more about trees? Join our For-estry Judging Team, where we will work with a TN Certified Forester to study leaf, insect, wood, and disease identifica-tion, as well as other forestry-related topics. We will be meeting once per week for 5 weeks on Wednesdays, August 8th – September 5th, from 4:30-6:00pm. Meetings will take place at the Bob Brown Field Station at Percy Warner Park: 7199 Hwy 100, Nashville, TN 37221. After these 5 practices, we will compete in the Central Region 4-H Forestry Competi-tion at Cedars of Lebanon State Park on September 11th. Contact Andy Lantz to register for this club!

Member Spotlight!
Two students from McGavock High School, Jai’lah Richardson and Chris Ford, represented Davidson County 4-H this month at the Citizenship Washington Focus held in Washington D.C. There they joined 8 other students from across the state of Tennessee to discuss citizenship and other topics with about 300 students from across the United States. We are very proud to have such outstanding and active members!
