DAVID BOWIE, MY IDOL

• David Bowie was an English singer, songwriter and actor. He was born in Brixton, South London on 8 January 1947. His real name was David Robert Jones. He was one of the world’s best-selling music artists. He studied art, music and design before becoming a musician.

FAMILYBowie got married to Angela Barnett in London in 1970.

Their son Duncan Jones was born in 1971. He was first known as Zowie.

They got divorced in 1980.

• Later, Bowie married the Somali-American model Iman. They were married until his death.

• They had a daughter, Alexandria , in August 2000.

HIS MUSIC CAREER• Bowie formed his first band at the age of 15 and he was in different bands until his

In his life he also participated in many films as an actor.

He died on 10 January 2016 in New York City, two days after his 69th birthday and the release of the album Blackstar. He had liver cancer.
