TARA MCKELVYGeneral Manager“Deadline” is Tara’s middle name. As our General Manager, she ensures the team is getting all projects and every detail completed on time. It’s a big job, but she cracks her whip (not literally) and jobs are input into our project tracking system, Basecamp, and then filtered to the appropriate department. Tara works directly with the owners, department directors/managers, and other employees to make sure nothing falls through the cracks. She keeps the plates spinning successfully and she doesn’t leave until the job is done. Tara is known for her steady, nice approach and her great smile. Tara also manages our team of media buyers who purchase and negotiate all over the country. Tara is a Tucson native who went to school at ASU. She has been with McFadden/Gavender Advertising for nearly eight years … and we are not letting her go anywhere!

Case Study: Sprout Farmers Market

7

When Sprouts Farmers Market engaged McFadden/Gavender as its full-service agency of record, it was a first for the grocer.

Valued at $3 billion, Sprouts is now one of the fastest-growing public offerings. The ultimate goal of utilizing a full-service agency was to achieve total support in all areas of mainstream advertising and PR, as well as digital and social media for the brand's aggressive growth plans. The relationship was a runaway success since day one. McFadden/Gavender was directly involved in the planning and on-site execution of all new store grand opening elements, including the creative concept, advertising campaign, public relations, events execution, social media, and web. The ultimate goal for these grand opening was to create a memorable experience for consumers, press, and local VIPs, so as to obtain initial and sustained sales.

Our public relations gurus secured the grocer priceless positive coverage, and, on some occasions, managed tremendous crisis management outbreaks. McFadden/Gavender is very experienced in accomplishing these objectives flawlessly.

McFadden/Gavender has attended dozens of grand openings for Sprouts and has helped create BUZZ around these events. Here are some shots which include M/G owner, Karen Gavender, and the M/G

team.

Case Study: Aloft Tucson

8

McFadden/Gavender organized and executed the grand opening for the debut of Aloft Tucson University. As the first and only location in Tucson, it was extremely important to establish a brand identity for the hotel which would reflect the high-quality reputation of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc., the owner and operator, while simultaneously setting it apart from its existing portfolio of hotels. The goal was to make a splash on the market which would create a sense of excitement for the property as a destination with a stylish urban attitude, establish the hotel as a good corporate citizen, and excite the community about its newest neighbor. The campaign also sought to build awareness of the hotel’s W XYZ Bar and Backyard. To achieve this, M/G planned the event from start to finish. A carefully detailed overview of the steps needed for it all to come together was created in advance by month. Sticking to this overview, the event itself was also detailed in 15 minute increments. Utilizing a multifaceted approach, our PR department created a targeted attendee list, enlisted local public figures to appear and speak, and set up pre- and post-event interviews. Our social media team created a social media giveaway and unique hashtag, as well as e-blast announcement to create buzz. Our media and projects departments worked together to set up all the event details and entertainment, including fire dancers, stilt walkers, the ribbon cutting, lighting, music, and breakdown.

The grand opening was attended by hundreds and received coverage in 17 different news outlets, including print, online and TV. The hotel has gone on to remain a fixture of the University area and enjoys a reputation as a contemporary destination for those who wish to travel in style.
