DENYS BAPTISTE2015 marks the 50th anniversary ofthe only live performance by thelegendary Coltrane of A Love Supreme– this milestone is so monumental thatthis work of art deserves to berevisited by new artists. Joininginspirational double bassist GaryCrosby is Mercury/MOBO-winningsaxophonist Denys Baptiste,internationally acknowledged as one ofthe finest exponents of Coltrane’smusic. Invoking the summer of 1965,the only occasion that he performedthis now timeless classic to a liveaudience, Baptiste’s exemplaryperformance promises to bring today’saudiences the closest they will get tofeeling Coltrane’s spiritualexpressionism. Joining the Quartet isthe hypnotic Joe Armon-Jones onpiano and the graceful crispness ofRod Youngs on drums.
