Vishwa Bharati organizesinter house quiz competition

JAMMU, Nov 7: VishwaBharati Public HigherSecondary School, AkalpurMorh, organized an interhouse quiz competition.
The quiz was conducted byDepartment of Social Scienceunder the guidance of VirjeeMattoo, GeographyDepartment, Girja Razdan,Department of History andReeta Bambroo.
The students who partici-pated in the quiz competitionwere Vishwa House includingArchna Saini, Shivali Gouria,Pranita Koul and BhavishyaSaraf, Satyam House includ-
ing Arun Koul, TaniyaSharma, Muskan Mahajan andAastha Pandita, ShivamHouse including HarshitaRaina, Mohit, Shriya Dharand Vanshika Rajput andSundram House includingDharni Raina, Jatin Pandita,Komal Padroo and HarshullaGanjoo.
It was a tough fightamongst the participatingteams. Sundram House wasthe winner by 32 points andSatyam House stood at secondplace by 31 points.
The objective of the quizcompetition was to provide aunique and exciting platformfor students to become theproductive citizens of theircountry.
Wipro conductscampus placement

JAMMU, Nov 7: For thefirst time, Wipro Technologiesconducted campus placement atGovernment College ofEngineering and TechnologyJammu and selected 12 studentsof GCET and 11 of SMVDU.
A high-level team of thismulti- national company, led byViswanathan V, Global Head ofWipro, conducted the place-ment drive for final year stu-dents of Electrical, Electronicsand Communication andComputer Engineering.
The selection process com-prised of online test followed byground discussion and techni-cal interview. Out of 55 studentswho appeared through theprocess, a total of 27 studentswere short listed and finally 12students of GCET and 11 stu-dents of SMVDU were selectedby the company.
Viswanathan V also inter-acted with Principal GCET, DrSameru Sharma and conveyedsatisfaction with quality of thetechnical graduates and effi-cient technical support, provid-ed by the college management,for conduct of online test.
Accident victim succumbs

JAMMU, Nov 7: The vic-tim of an accident today suc-cumbed to his injuries here atGovernment Medical Collegeand Hospital.
According to a policespokesperson, a man identi-fied as Gulshan Sharma (35)son of Sardari Lal, a residentof Baira in Kathua district,who had been undergoingtreatment for his accidentinjuries since yesterdayevening, expired in the weehours of today here atGMCH.
The body of the deceasedwas handed over to his legalheirs for last rites after com-pleting all medico-legal for-malities. The concernedpolice had already taken cog-nizance of the matter.

Unidentified bodies recovered

JAMMU, Nov 7: Two maleunidentified dead bodies were
recovered from city outskirts. As per police sources, the body
of an unidentified male agedaround 32 years was found late lastnight from Main Chowk, Janipur.
The body was shifted to mortu-ary of Government MedicalCollege and Hospital (GMCH) foridentification.
An unidentified body of a maleof age about 60 years was alsofound this morning from CanalRoad near Irrigation Office.
The body has been shifted tomortuary of GMCH for identifica-tion. The concerned police hastaken cognizance in this regard.
