DAILY EXCELSIOR, JAMMU SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 2015 (PAGE 15) Vishwa Bharati organizes inter house quiz competition Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, Nov 7: Vishwa Bharati Public Higher Secondary School, Akalpur Morh, organized an inter house quiz competition. The quiz was conducted by Department of Social Science under the guidance of Virjee Mattoo, Geography Department, Girja Razdan, Department of History and Reeta Bambroo. The students who partici- pated in the quiz competition were Vishwa House including Archna Saini, Shivali Gouria, Pranita Koul and Bhavishya Saraf, Satyam House includ- ing Arun Koul, Taniya Sharma, Muskan Mahajan and Aastha Pandita, Shivam House including Harshita Raina, Mohit, Shriya Dhar and Vanshika Rajput and Sundram House including Dharni Raina, Jatin Pandita, Komal Padroo and Harshulla Ganjoo. It was a tough fight amongst the participating teams. Sundram House was the winner by 32 points and Satyam House stood at second place by 31 points. The objective of the quiz competition was to provide a unique and exciting platform for students to become the productive citizens of their country. Wipro conducts campus placement at GCET Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, Nov 7: For the first time, Wipro Technologies conducted campus placement at Government College of Engineering and Technology Jammu and selected 12 students of GCET and 11 of SMVDU. A high-level team of this multi- national company, led by Viswanathan V, Global Head of Wipro, conducted the place- ment drive for final year stu- dents of Electrical, Electronics and Communication and Computer Engineering. The selection process com- prised of online test followed by ground discussion and techni- cal interview. Out of 55 students who appeared through the process, a total of 27 students were short listed and finally 12 students of GCET and 11 stu- dents of SMVDU were selected by the company. Viswanathan V also inter- acted with Principal GCET, Dr Sameru Sharma and conveyed satisfaction with quality of the technical graduates and effi- cient technical support, provid- ed by the college management, for conduct of online test. Accident victim succumbs Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, Nov 7: The vic- tim of an accident today suc- cumbed to his injuries here at Government Medical College and Hospital. According to a police spokesperson, a man identi- fied as Gulshan Sharma (35) son of Sardari Lal, a resident of Baira in Kathua district, who had been undergoing treatment for his accident injuries since yesterday evening, expired in the wee hours of today here at GMCH. The body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites after com- pleting all medico-legal for- malities. As per police sources, the body of an unidentified male aged around 32 years was found late last night from Main Chowk, Janipur. The body was shifted to mortu- ary of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for identification. An unidentified body of a male of age about 60 years was also found this morning from Canal Road near Irrigation Office. The body has been shifted to mortuary of GMCH for identifica- tion. The concerned police has taken cognizance in this regard.
