Executive Summary

The deliverable D11.2 is the report at M24 of the WP11 “Dissemination and Programme

collaboration”, which includes T11.1 “Dissemination action plan and implementation” and T11.2

“FI-PPP programme collaboration”.

This deliverable will be updated at the end of the project (M30) as the final report of WP11.

The main results presented in this deliverable are:

- The strategy used in order to raise awareness, ensure the adoption of the FITMAN results and

encourage the development of further outcomes are being explained, along with the specific

engagements towards SMEs. This strategy includes the key messages, the targets and the tools:

• The key messages disseminated involve FITMAN’s aim to test and to assess the

suitability of 10 industry-led use case trials in several manufacturing sectors in order to

improve the competitiveness of EU industries. FITMAN’s technologies building on top

of Future Internet Generic Enablers will enable wider adoption of FI Core and Specific

enablers by European manufacturing industries through services and applications and

thus allow SMEs to access advanced ICT solutions.

• The targets for these messages even if mainly focusing on SMEs, Entrepreneurship

networks and ICT infrastructure providers for manufacturing has been widely extended

in order to go beyond the stakeholders and reach towards the general public.

• Amongst the tools used, we can find, the website, flyers, posters, newsletters and social

medias.

- The dissemination actions performed in Period 2:

• 18 FITMAN presentations during selected events as well as the 14 face to face meetings

(workshops for the most part). 11 of those meetings were linked to FI-PPP

collaborations.

• 12 scientific publications from this period are also described.

• An in depth analysis of the social medias (LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, Facebook and

Slideshare) will show a successful presence of FITMAN, in line with the strategy

followed since the beginning of the project.

• A positive assessment of the dissemination actions for the Period 2. The dissemination

actions were in accordance with the strategy and met the targets set for the period.

- The dissemination plan for Period 3:

• 11 events and 10 publications planned for the third and last Period of FITMAN.

• The creation of the FITMANovationLab, to exploit and disseminate results beyond the

end of the project. A three steps phase is envisaged with a short-term mission (One-stop

free-shop for Phase III A16 & start-ups), a medium-term mission (one-stop shop for «FI

for Manufacturing» solutions, free of charge for FI-PPP) and a long-term mission for a

FITMAN Sustainable Exploitation vehicle.

The FIPPP programme collaborations before the working groups were cancelled following the

restructuration of the FI-PPP activities in Phase 3 are addressed in section II.

SECTION I. FITMAN DISSEMINATION

This section presents the activities run under the task 11.2 “FITMAN Dissemination” which

includes the dissemination of project’s results and the communication performed by the project’s

partners. The whole section describes the implemented strategy, the method to assess the

dissemination, the reports of actions performed in period 2 and the dissemination plan over period

3.

1. Dissemination strategy and plan

Dissemination objectives 1.1.

As explained in D11.1 and according to the Description of Work (DoW), the WP11 objectives are

as follows:

O1. Promote and raise awareness of the project: by establishing and continuously maintaining

effective levels of communication with the partners, the various stakeholders and other interested

parties, and regularly provide a general overview of the project and a snapshot of the recent work

progress.

O2: Ensure the adoption of the FITMAN results by the potential users and policy-makers: by

establishing liaisons with target communities, sharing expertise and knowledge and contributing to

the transfer of project achievements and lessons learnt.

O3. Encourage the development of further outcomes in new initiatives based on the FITMAN

results at the FI-PPP programme level and beyond. Any FI-PPP stakeholders must be well

aware of the technical and scientific progress and results of the project.

Each objective is linked to specific target audiences which will enable to achieve the FITMAN

expected impact.

The European Commission also provided a recommendation to organise open events and

workshops at trial sites: ”The scope should be to disseminate, not only to stakeholders but also to

the general public, findings, value, benefits but also barriers and in general lessons learned through

the deployment of the FITMAN platform and enablers at each partner trial site.

Targets for dissemination and Key messages 1.2.

The identified targets for dissemination that the FITMAN project aimed at reaching were set in

D11.1

For promotion and awareness of the project (O1) and the adoption of the FITMAN results by the

potential users and policy-makers (O2), the targeted audiences are:

• SMEs including start-ups and web entrepreneurships in ICT for manufacturing

• Intermediaries for SMEs, including venture capitalists, regional authorities, incubators,

and SME associations

• Innovation/Entrepreneurship networks and Clusters

• Innovation managers from application manufacturing companies

Page 7: D11.2 FITMAN dissemination action plan and implementation ......industry-led use case trials in several manufacturing sectors: automotive, aeronautics, white goods, furniture, textile/clothing,

FITMAN Consortium Dissemination: public 7/57

• ICT infrastructure providers for manufacturing

• Software and application developers in ICT for manufacturing

• Public institutions and Regional development Agencies

For encouraging the re-using of FITMAN scientific results in other projects or initiatives (O3), the

dissemination will be performed among research communities such as:

• FI-PPP and FoF project consortia and working groups

• IERC (IoT European Research Cluster), FInES (Future Internet Enterprise Systems)

cluster (now renamed under the acronym DBI for Digital Business Innovation), NEM

(Networked and Electronic Media Initiative), FISO (Future Internet Service Offer WG),

NESSI (Networked European Software and Service Initiative), EpoSS (European

Technology Platform on Smart Systems Integration), and others.

• Academia, research projects, research centres, RTD departments and research

communities having common interests with the FITMAN domains

According to the Review Recommendation at M12 these targets have been expanded as much as

possible in order to go beyond the typical stakeholders and reach towards the general public.

The general key messages have continuously been used to describe the purpose of the project and

its contribution to the manufacturing area:

• FITMAN’s mission is to test and to assess the suitability, openness and flexibility of the

FI-PPP Core Platform as the foundation of a new generation of ICT systems contributing

to a strong European re-industrialisation.

• The FITMAN Project (36 partners) aims to provide the FI-PPP Programme with 10

industry-led use case trials in several manufacturing sectors: automotive, aeronautics,

white goods, furniture, textile/clothing, LED lighting, plastic, construction and

manufacturing assets management.

• Through innovative and enhanced business processes, services and applications,

FITMAN technologies, building on top of Future Internet Generic Enablers will improve

the competitiveness of EU industries

• FITMAN will assist the European industry in meeting their STEEP (social-

technological-economical-environmental-political) sustainability targets.

• As an added value with respect to the generic Core Platform, the FITMAN Project is

also developing its own set of software assets, addressing needs and requirements

specific to the manufacturing domain.

• FITMAN will facilitate a wider adoption of FI Core and Specific enablers by European

manufacturing industries.

• FITMAN will lower the barriers for industry and particularly SMEs to access advanced

ICT solutions to support the competitiveness of their business processes.

• FITMAN will lead SMEs towards more advanced computing paradigms increasing

efficiency and reducing the cost of ownership and maintenance of advanced ICT

services.

Page 8: D11.2 FITMAN dissemination action plan and implementation ......industry-led use case trials in several manufacturing sectors: automotive, aeronautics, white goods, furniture, textile/clothing,

FITMAN Consortium Dissemination: public 8/57

• FITMAN will allow ICT developers to develop services faster, making use of well-

known components and services they can trust creating a virtuous circle across the ICT

industry and the manufacturing industry.

Along with those key messages, FITMAN started to disseminate the first results:

• FITMAN has defined a methodology to allow the European Industry to define

innovative business processes relying on the capabilities of Future Internet assets,

Generic Enablers and Infrastructures.

• FITMAN is generating the evidence through more than 50 new business processes that

the Generic Enablers, part of the Future Internet Core platform, are suitable to support

operations in realistic manufacturing scenarios.

• FITMAN has leveraged 8 additional Specific Enablers that will extend the FI Core

offerings in the manufacturing domain. They are grouped in three projects:

- MAGNIFY “Managing Real-time Situational Awareness through Dynamic

Monitoring and Interaction in Smart Factories of the Future Internet”

- ELITE “EnabLing future Internet Technologies to Empower Digital Factories”

- ASSET-KIT “Extension Kit for Advanced Asset Management in Virtual Factories”

• FITMAN, to facilitate the faster adoption of FI Generic Enablers and Specific Enablers

by ICT developers for the manufacturing domain has composed and integrated them into

three FITMAN Platforms, each targeted at one of the Factories of the Future domains:

• Smart Factory platform for real-time data collection and processing.

• Digital Factory platform for an innovative and sustainable production, through

intelligent knowledge flows.

• Virtual Factory platform for efficient use of the resources accessible in the whole

manufacturing process, taking into account suppliers, customers and production

assets.

• FITMAN has developped a Verification and Validation (V&V) framework, to define the

most suitable performance indicators to measure and assess the success of FITMAN

trials both from the IT and the Business viewpoints. This method will be proposed to the

Future Users of the IT tools proposed by FITMAN.

The website has been created in M3 and is continuously updated. The partners agreed to provide

updates about the project objectives, results, dissemination documents, publications, and news to be

published on the website whenever those pieces of information are available. Therefore, the

expanded website is regularly updated as soon as new outputs, results and information are available,

while the structure, having been chosen as flexible as possible, can be adapted to new needs (for

example by adding links to the FITMAN catalogue, the creation of web pages for the WP8 Package

supporting Phase III).

The website is intended as the main information source for all people and organisations interested in

the FITMAN research activity and matters.

FITMAN Social Media Strategy 1.5.

As presented in detail in the context of deliverable “D11.1: FITMAN dissemination action plan and

implementation including FI-PPP collaboration M12 issue”, FITMAN has recognized the ever

growing outreach of social media in Europe and the importance of their integration in its online

dissemination strategy. To this end, FITMAN has achieved a strong presence on Web 2.0 platforms

for Social Networking, Micro blogging and Content Sharing

The FITMAN social media strategy aims at covering a set of different objectives: (a) to enhance the

project’s visibility by communicating to researchers, industry representatives and any interested

person the project’s events, outcomes and related information, (b) to access real-time information

regarding other relevant projects and initiatives (i.e. FI-PPP Projects) by following their respective

social media accounts and (c) to transfer knowledge to the FITMAN stakeholders by reproducing

(cross-posting, retweeting, etc.) it via the FITMAN’s social media accounts.

To this end, in order to meet the objectives presented above and cover the diverse needs and the

different types of material to be disseminated (e.g. documents, videos, presentations, etc.), different

channels have been used. The selected channels, thoroughly presented in the context of the

FITMAN Deliverable D11.1, are briefly presented in the following table.

Table 2. FITMAN’s Social Media Tools and Channels

Each social network is used for different purposes in order to distribute different types of FITMAN

public material:

Twitter is used to post original FITMAN content (e.g. participating workshops, plenary and

review meetings, news, publications) and reproduce relevant content from other accounts

that FITMAN follows or based on specific hash tags and keywords (such as #futureinternet,

#FIWARE, #manufacturing) which are tracked. Emphasis has been also placed on creating

social connections with identified influencers in Future Internet, IT and Manufacturing

domains.

In the FITMAN LinkedIn group, selected news are diffused to its members and discussions

are initiated between the consortium and other interested group members (both in the

FITMAN group and other relevant LinkedIn groups, such as FIWARE, Future Internet PPP,

Future Internet Research, etc.). The Facebook page also promotes in a more informal way

the news and results of the project.

In Slideshare, the FITMAN presentations are uploaded and shared, whereas in the FITMAN

Youtube channel the trials and webinars videos become publicly available.

In order to further encourage visitors to engage with project’s social networks, the FITMAN

website has integrated certain, visible social media share buttons and a dedicated space at the

bottom of the website’s homepage to retrieve the FITMAN’s Twitter feed, as indicated in the

following screenshot.

Metrics for Social Media Dissemination

The metrics that are used to assess the impact of the FITMAN social media strategy in alignment

with deliverable D11.1, include:

A. Level of Engagement

How many FITMAN entries in the social media accounts?

How many followers in the different FITMAN social media accounts?

How many comments posted by followers in the various FITMAN’s social media accounts?

B. Measure influence

How many times a FITMAN message was reproduced in the Web 2.0 (re-tweets, shares,

etc.)?

How many followers do the persons who reproduced a FITMAN messages have in total?

C. Quality Measurement

Number of meaningful comments associated with the FITMAN social media accounts

Number of posts/tweets/messages quoting or linking to FITMAN

In order to obtain a deeper understanding of FITMAN’s followers’ profiles (i.e. their gender, their

location and their interests), certain supplementary figures from the various social networks’

analytics are taken into account.

FITMAN for SMEs engagement 1.6.

In order to promote its results and role of support in Phase III, FITMAN carried out a set of

technology awareness raising actions among potential applicants interested in the calls organized

under FIWARE Accelerators.

Given that FITMAN has a specific focus on manufacturing, special focus was given to Accelerators

relevant to this field, namely FABulous, CEED and FINISH. The schedule of the actions was in line

with the launching of the calls by the majority of the A16, in the period of November-December

2014.

The geographical scope of the actions was set for EU – 28 and FP7 Associated countries. The target

group was set as SMEs, web entrepreneurs (WEs) and startups working within fields related to ICT

and manufacturing. The list of identified organisations with available communication channels as

presented in D8.3 Annex 7.1 was the source for identifying and contacting organisations. The final

number of the organisations contacted was 111, allocating 22 per partner, with an exception for

VTT with 23 allocated organisations (due to proximity and previous communication with the extra

added organisation). As a result, 36% of the organisations contacted finally propagated FITMAN

information to their members. Through these networks we estimate that around 115.000 SMEs and

WEs have been reached.

Furthermore, FITMAN has been presented at the main events organised at the FI-PPP level and/or

events linked to the FI topics where these targets could be interested to participate.

2. Dissemination Report of Period 2

During the second year of the project, partners have implemented the dissemination plan presented

in chapter 1 in order to follow the communication strategy defined in the project.

The sub-chapters below present the dissemination actions by differentiating the types of actions:

- the general dissemination by participating in main events and representing the FITMAN project

- the events organized by FITMAN

- the publications in the frame of FITMAN at selected conferences, journals, website…

- the specific collaborations with external groups

- the report of the dissemination through social media

At the end of the period, an assessment of these actions has been carried out and the conclusions are

presented in Chapter 2.6.

The disruptive impact on future businesses, citizens and

society of the Internet of Things in an Internet of Everything

is no longer disputed. Over the recent past, we have witnessed

how companies of all sizes are embracing the IoT

technologies and working on innovative business

propositions. Moreover, connected communities and

ecosystems are starting to emerge being supported not only by

embedded system manufacturers such ARM but also by end

users aiming at delivering value added services on top of their

traditional businesses models and products. New computing

paradigms such as Fog Computing provide an amenable

support and a more effective exploitation capabilities of the

features that IoT technology can leverage to people and

businesses. The workshop aims at bringing together key

stakeholders to share their experiences, lessons learned, plans

in the FIWARE, IoT and open innovation ecosystem domains

and jointly identify the opportunities that FIWARE and IoT

open ecosystems will bring to business development in

general and to future FIWARE web-entrepreneurs taking part

in the FIWARE acceleration programme in particular.

Liaisons with research communities, projects 2.4.

External communities and European projects having common interests with the FITMAN domains

(ICT, FI, FoF technologies, methodologies and tools applied to the manufacturing industry, IT

infrastructure and platforms…) have been identified in order to analyse possibilities to co-organize

events or common initiatives. The FITMAN partners are involved in many research and industrial

communities, associations and networks. They have the mission to try to develop dissemination

actions with them and create synergies.

The paragraphs below describe the collaborations initiated by some partners with external EU

clusters, research communities and EU projects.

presentation at the DBI Cluster meeting (Brussels, 8 Jul. 14) at the session on "Research and Policy

Drivers for Digital Business Innovation" (TXT, NTUA, Innovalia).

IERC cluster The IERC cluster (WG1) is organically integrated into a R&I framework, so its pilots,

demonstrators, best practices are playing an even more important role for bridging the gap between

Research and Market.

FITMAN will therefore contribute to the AC3 in the next period.

FITMAN is also planning to participate in at least one event related to IERC.

FITMAN social media report in period 2 2.5.

Following the first year’s emerging presence in social media, the FITMAN social media accounts

achieved to establish an active and strong presence, gain visibility and engage a more targeted

audience during the 2nd

year of the FITMAN project.

The following table presents the metrics regarding social media dissemination activities performed

by FITMAN during the two years of the project and a comparison with the metrics of the 1st year,

based on the Social Media strategy described in Section 1.4.

For the calculation of the metrics. the integrated insights and analytics of Twitter, LinkedIn and

Facebook were used, as well as data derived directly from each FITMAN account and a dedicated

Twitter analytics tool, called Tweetchup3.

Table 3. Social Media Dissemination Metrics

As the table reveals, a significant increase from Year 1 (with the lowest increase noted at 135%) is

recorded in all the social media dissemination metrics. These numbers can be attributed to: (a) the

continuous effort invested on social media to efficiently share FITMAN information and material

over the Internet; (b) the fact that during the 2nd

year, concrete FITMAN results (regarding the

methodologies, the SF-VF-DF platforms, the Specific Enablers and the trials) were publicly

distributed and promoted through FITMAN’s social media accounts, attracting the interest of the

public and especially of top influencers in the FITMAN-related domains; and (c) the increased

visibility of FITMAN in various dissemination events and (d) the continuously expanding

audience outreach of the FIWARE programme during Phase 3. In particular, it needs to be noted

that the huge increase of the total FITMAN outreach (i.e. How many followers do the persons who

reproduced a FITMAN messages have in total?) can be justified by the engagement and interaction

with various domains influencers on FITMAN’s social media accounts.

During the 2nd

year of the project, the FITMAN twitter account has achieved a Klout4 score of 42,

reflecting once more its active and constant presence in the twitter landscape and acknowledging

its expertise on Innovation, Future Internet, Apps and Science and Technology in Europe. The

following figures from Twitter analytics depict the location and interests of the FITMAN followers

in Twitter.

Concerning the profiles of the followers of FITMAN social media accounts, detailed metrics can be

drawn both from Facebook and from Twitter. The following graph presents the percentages per

gender and per age group of the fans of FITMAN page. Although most followers are men, it can be

noted that there is an increase of women’s presence from 38% in the 1st

year of the project

(presented in the previous deliverable) to 44%. It is also evident that most followers belong in the

age groups 25-34.

In summary, the successful presence of the FITMAN project in Social Media has been in line with

the strategy followed since the beginning of the project, confirming in the strongest way the initial

belief that publishing the ongoing outcomes and results from the adoption of the FIWARE Generic

Enablers and the FITMAN Specific Enablers to the trials would strengthen the interest of the

European IT and Manufacturing industry, as reflected to FITMAN Social Media channels. With

regard to the final year of the FITMAN project implementation, the consortium plans to adhere to

its effective social media strategy and to further focus on attracting and interacting with influencers

in the social web, culminating the visibility of the project. Updates regarding the FITMAN Specific

Enablers, Platforms, Methodologies, and Trials, as well as the FITMANovation Lab (FML),

together with information about the FIWARE accelerators and their advancements, are among the

main topics which will be communicated through the social media accounts of the project.

FITMAN has mostly reached or exceeded its targets. Being in the second period of the project, a

special effort has been put into face to face encounters such as workshops in order to go into deeper

details of the results and future exploitation rather than simple awareness (which was still ongoing

with FITMAN’s participation to multiple events and active social medias). The other emphasis has

been FIWARE & FI-PPP collaborations in order to still participate despite the cancellation of the

working groups.

Concentrating on those priorities has shifted our focus from working with other FoF project.

Webinars are also in preparation for the next period.

Social media dissemination have also been doing well and will continue to be improved until the

end of the project.

FITMAN Consortium Dissemination: public 51/57

3. Dissemination plan for Period 3

Project results to be disseminated 3.1.

The dissemination plan is related to the results that will be achieved by the end of the project. The

project expected results disseminated since M13 can be classified in two categories:

- the scientific results, presented mostly at the scientific community

- the technological results which are of interest for the technical community but also for the

business community in particular the trials recommendations

The scientific result includes:

- FITMAN Verification & Validation Method (WP2)

- FITMAN Business and Technical Indicators (WP2)

- FITMAN Architecture and Trials (WP1 and WP3)

- FITMAN SMEs Innovation preparation (WP8)

The technological results include:

- FITMAN System for Smart, Digital and Virtual Factory (WP4, WP5 and WP6)

- FITMAN Trials Recommendations to App Ecosystem & Service Delivery, Cloud Hosting &

Interface to Network, Internet of Things and Data Context Management, Privacy-Security-Trust

(WP7)

- FITMAN Trials Guidelines and Best Practices for Phase III Trials (WP7)

- FITMAN Phase III Package and SEs Terms and Conditions Final (WP8)

An information package for Phase III participants is publicly available on the project website

(http://www.fitman-fi.eu/phase-iii-package). People can find in these web pages all the public

results produced during the project and can download consultation documents for each result (after

registration). The information package will be updated by integrating the results accepted by the EC

after the first review and the final review.

A third type of result has started to be disseminated: the exploitation of FITMAN in the future.

FITMAN is working hard to follow the European Commission’s request to find a sustainable entity

to keep hosting and disseminating the results of the project.

The FITMANovation Lab (FML) concept has been conceived with that idea: an exploitation

instrument that can be used to sustain the FITMAN project activities and results well beyond the

end of the FIWARE Programme, while offering, during the FI-PPP, a set of software and support

services to the Phase III accelerators and their sub-grantees that will take part in the Programme.

While FITMAN is working on a business plan, INTEROP-VLab has offered to host the FML as

part of its Non-Profit International Association and is currently working on the specifics to include

the FITMAN Partners and the possible development and commercialisation of the FML inside

INTEROP-VLab.

Targets for M30

Following the extension of the projects, some new targets have been defined for M30. Period 3 is

only 6 Months and includes the summer period hence the less ambitious objectives.

SECTION II. FI-PPP Programme Collaborations

FITMAN was involved in the FI-PPP governance bodies and working groups and had appointed

representatives in each working groups namely:

- Steering Board (SB): S. Gusmeroli (TXT#1); O. Lazaro (INNOVALIA#10)

- Architectural Board (AB): M. Isaja (ENG#4), M. Sesana (TXT#1)

- Executive Industry Board (EIB): S. Gusmeroli (TXT#1)

- Standards Working Group (SWG): J. Hitado (ATOS#8)

- Exploitation & Business Modeling (EBM): E. Vega (ATOS#8)

- Policy & Regulation Working Group (PRWG): G. Doumeingts, C. Lieu (I-VLab#2), D. Rotondi

(TXT#1)

- Communication and Dissemination Working Group (DWG): G. Doumeingts, C. Lieu (I-VLab#2)

The role of this FI-PPP governance organization was to ensure the consistency and a common

strategy between all the FI-PPP projects acting during phase 2.

However, following the restructuration of the FI-PPP activities in Phase 3, a working group

including the 16 accelerators, specialized task forces and Organizing Committee, has been created

to coordinate the future FI-PPP activities. Therefore the working groups have been cancelled. Their

last activities are mentioned below.

1. FITMAN in FI-PPP Governance bodies and working groups

Steering Board (SB): 1.1.

SB meetings have mostly addressed the organisation of ECFI II in Munich and the launch of Phase

III acceleration projects. FITMAN contributions to SB discussion have been always timely and to

the point, appreciated by all the SB members. FITMAN also proposed a new candidate for the SB

Chairmanship and Stefano de Panfilis (Engineering, FITMAN beneficiary) was elected.

Architecture Board (AB): 1.2.

The Architecture Board is the FI-PPP program's governance body responsible for driving the design

and development of the FIWARE Core Platform. The AB is composed by high-profile technical

representatives from all the FI-PPP projects. In particular, the role of Use Case Projects (UCP)

within the AB is to actively contribute their requirements and results to a continuous evolution

Page 56: D11.2 FITMAN dissemination action plan and implementation ......industry-led use case trials in several manufacturing sectors: automotive, aeronautics, white goods, furniture, textile/clothing,

process. From its very start, the FITMAN project was consistently represented in the AB by two

consortium members - TXT and ENG. During this period of time, spanning from April 2013 to July

2014, the AB held a total of 12 meetings, both virtual and face-to-face, on a monthly schedule.

Initially, the main focus of the discussion was to ensure a proper alignment of the new UCP's

reference architecture with the Core Platform's evolving specifications. Once this prerequisite goal

was achieved, two more discussion topics were introduced: defining a set of program-level Key

Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the assessment of FIWARE impact, and preparing the ground for

Phase III - i.e., ensuring that SMEs and developers joining the program will be able to fully exploit

Phase II results.

Exploitation and Business Modeling (EBM): 1.3.

ATOS has contributed to the organization of a meeting between FITMAN core consortium and the

FiCore and FIPPP representatives, organized on 5 September 2014 in Brussels. The main purpose

of this meeting was to align the FITMAN sustainability vehicle with FiCore and FI-PPP

exploitation strategy.

Policy, Regulation and Governance Working Group (PRG WG) 1.4.

I-VLab has contributed to the organisation of the “Data Protection and Privacy”, organised at the

1st ECFI in Brussels on 2 April 2014

Dissemination Working Group (DWG) 1.5.

I-VLab has contributed in the activities defined by the CONCORD project and the Phase 2 projects,

until June 2014.

The FIWARE Press Office has now taken over those activities.

Despite the cancellation of the working groups, FITMAN has continued to contribute in FI-PPP

common action, as it is shown in 2.4. IT will also continue in the next period by continuing to

organise joint actions with other projects or by participating in the FIPPP newsletter.

As described in the dissemination plan for Period 3, FITMAN is also planning to create the

FITMANovation Lab to pursue the FI-PPP activities.

Conclusion

The dissemination activities during the second year of FITMAN were performed in coherence with

the objectives and strategy defined at the beginning of project, the main goal being that the project

results are largely promoted especially towards the manufacturing industry.

A total of 30 events have been achieved; mainly presentations and workshops with amongst them

renown ones such as ICE, ECFI, the IoT week, or the World Manufacturing Forum.

12 publications appeared with most notably proceedings for the ICE Conference, the 11th

ACS/IEEE, ECFI 1 and ECFI2 but also papers for the International journal Intelligence Artificial.

There has been a strong outreach through social media with a total of 657 followers and 852 entries

throughout the various social media accounts.

Despite the cancellation of the FIPPP working groups, FITMAN has kept a high participation to

FIWARE and FI-PPP related events (11 events).

These results allowed FITMAN to achieve the objectives planned in D11.1 and created a strong

awareness around the project.

For the final period, FITMAN needs to maintain its efforts in terms of events and publications to

disseminate the last results. It was requested that the trials organize workshops at trial’s sites in

order to show the excellent results in the trial’s environment.

An important goal will also be the creation of the FITMANovationLab in order to continue the

dissemination of the project after its ending. Actions and services are already planned:

• Short-term services (FITMAN Project Duration)

• Phase III accelerators / startups support.

• Brokering of manufacturing assets.

• Phase III Platforms as a Service provision

• Medium-term additional services (FI-PPP Programme Duration)

• European hub – «FI for manufacturing»

• Digital business process ideation & innovation services.

• Certification Programme.

• Long-term additional services (Beyond FI-PPP)

• Business Process Digitalization.

• Legacy systems Integration

• FIWARE Business Process Delivery
