Words and Music byJudy Small
Arranged byDiane Benjamin
Here we stand before our family and friends. It’s an age-old ritual that never ends.
Here we stand to make the vows that bind our lives,To join our hands and hearts and we begin with just one line:
From this day forward.
Here we stand so full of tenderness and strong,To tell the world that this is where we both belong.
Not to, but with each other, hand in hand and hearts aligned,And we change the lives we’re living with one simple line:
From this day forward.
From this day forward I will be right at your side,To be there at the ebb and flow of every tide.
I will be there to be your comfort and your guide,From this day forward.
Here we stand to face a future of our own,To build our life together brick by brick and stone by stone.
We understand that life is what we make it now. Here we stand.
We’ll build it on our love and just these simple vows:From this day forward I will be right at your side,
To be there at the ebb and flow of every tide.I will be there to be your comfort and your guide,
From this day forward.
And the commitment that we make todayIs not a one-day wonder.
Every day we’ll breathe the promises that bind us here and now. What we join today in love,
There’s no one else can tear asunder. We’ll commit ourselves to working on this love of ours,
From this day forward.
Here we stand before our family and friends. It’s an age-old ritual that never ends,
From this day forward.

The Rose ArborSSAA, Oboe and Piano
Words bySusan Kunhardt
Music byDiane Benjamin
I sit with you in the rose arbor, our temple. The whimsical shapes dark against the light of the moon.
A few remaining crickets are chirping. The air is so damp and a little bit chilly.
I sit with you in the rose arbor, our temple. The whimsical shapes dark against the light of the moon.
There’s mist down by the blueberries,Offering a glow to the air.
Puppy is lying at a shadow’s edge.I can barely make her out.
I sit with you in the rose arbor, our temple. The shimsical shapes dark against the light of the moon.
There’s a hint of sweetness,A faint smell of the sweet earth.
May I quote you and say,“It’s a magical world.”?

Snow Might FlySAA, Oboe and Piano
Words byBecky Karush
Music byDiane Benjamin
One day Jack said, “I wanna try that thing.”He pointed to the mini backhoe by the half-built barn.
His winning smile flashed.Karen leaned against his side, chided
“Snow might fly.”We heard the distant grind,Kept on spreading mulch,
Until he hollered“Kids, come here!”
Dirt heaped, maple deep,The backhoe twitched its metal skirt.
“Ok, kids,” he grinned,“Fill that gulch!”
Though it seemed the earth had belched itself up to our knees,We gave the tree its home.
Jack gave back the backhoe.Once he told me he felt like the mayor of a town,And doled out money to its citizens’ greenhouse,
Bean patch, picnic knoll.I think it’s more that
What he imagines is what he sows,The farm he sees at night or underneath the snow,
Underneath the snow.

Words and Music by
Diane Benjamin
Deep in the heart of late December,Softly the snow begins to fall
Slowly the night turns into darknessAs we begin the longest night of all.Watching, waiting, light is fading,
On the longest night of all.
Looking around, we see the darkness,Turning within, we hope for light.
Here in our circle, deep in dreamingSilent, we wait throughout the night.Watching, waiting, light is fading,
On the longest night of all.
Oh, can you see it, can you feel it?Has a different time begun?
Here in the dark of late December,Comes the brightness of the sun.
Watching, waiting, light is fading,On the longest night of all.
Watching, waiting, light is breaking,On the longest night of all.

When Harvesting ArugulaSSAA and Piano
Words by
Becky Karush
Music by
Diane Benjamin
When harvesting arugula, clasp a handful,Its spices detonate when you snip an inch above the root
And toss it like confetti to your red bucket. It flutters in the air like visible dreams.
Suddenly all you need is in the air, like visible dreams.Suddenly all you need is confetti in a red bucket.
It flutters above the roots.Toss it when you snip an inch and its spices detonate.
Clasp a handful, when harvesting arugula.
Regular sales price: $1.50 per score.
