Primary Flight Display Section [Control Buttons]
PFD Control Buttons
• RA/BARO button – The RA/BARO button selects either RA decision height
(DH) or BARO altitude alert altitude values for display on the PFD. The
power-up default value is BARO OFF (dashed).
• STD Button – Pushing the STD button returns the barometric altimeter
correction to standard value of 29.92 in. Hg (1013 HPa).
• BARO SET knob – The BARO SET knob selects barometric altimeter correction.

Primary Flight Display Section [Altitude Display]
• Altitude Select Display – The
altitude alert select readout is
displayed at the top of the altitude
scale. It is set using the right-side
remote instrument controller. It’s
value displays in cyan except when
within 1000 feet of the selected
value it turns amber.
• Altitude Rolling Digits – The
altitude rolling digital display reads
current altitude in 20ft increments.
It’s value displays in green. Below
10,000 a boxed cross-hatch replaces
the left-most digit to emphasize low
altitude awareness.
• BARO Altimeter Setting – The BARO set window is under the altitude tape.
It can be set in either Inches of Mercury (in. Hg) or Hectopascals (hPa) using
the MFD bezel controller. The value displays in cyan.
• FMS VNAV Altitude Select Bug and Display – When a VNAV altitude has
been entered into the FMS, and any VNAV flight guidance mode is engaged,
the MMaaggeennttaa altitude select annuciation and bug are displayed. The digital
readout is at the top left of the altitude tape, below the flight director vertical
modes. The arrow-shaped bug is along the outer left side of the altitude tape.
• Altitude Trend Vector – The altitude trend vector originates at the altitude
reference line. It displays as a magenta thermometer shape that corresponds
to altitude rate of feet per minute. If the aircraft maintains the same vertical
speed for the next six seconds, the projected number of feet climbed equals
the number of feet at the top of the trend vector.
• Altitude Select Bug – The altitude select bug is a notched rectangle that
travels along the left inside of the altitude tape. The bug is displayed at the
altitude value set in the altitude alert select display. The bug color is the
same as the digit color in the altitude select window.
• BARO Altitude Analog Scale – The barometric altitude tape is a white
moving scale display with fixed pointer. It’s labeled in 500ft increments with
a chevron at each 500ft and 1000ft interval. The 1000ft marks show double
chevrons, the 500ft show single.
• Low Altitude Awareness Display – At radio altitudes of 550ft or less, the
lower part of the altitude tape changes from gray to brown.
• Metric Altitude Display – The metric altitude display is directly below the
BARO set data. It is shown only if it has been selected for display via the
MFDs PFD SETUP menu option. It’s value is always green.
• Barometric Altitude Alert Bug (MDA Bug) – The D-shaped altitude alert
bug is displayed on the left outside of the altitude tape, with a line extending
from the bug across the tape. Its position corresponds with the digital BARO
set value.

Primary Flight Display Section [Airspeed Display]
• VMO Overspeed Tape – VMO is a fixed
red bar that originates at VMO and
extends up to the scale end along the
right side of the airspeed tape.
• Slat/Flaps Limit Bugs – When the
airspeed tape is within the slat/flap
maximum airspeed extended range, red
bugs with white labels are displayed as
follows:

NOTES:
1. The maximum gear extension speed is not marked on the
airspeed tape.
2. When IAS exceeds 290kts, a white (down arrow) F (slow
for flap speed symbol) is displayed at the bottom of the
display.
• Trend Vector – The MMaaggeennttaa airspeed trend vector runs along the outer
right side of the airspeed tape.
• FMS Airspeed Bug – When an FMS-supplied speed target is selected, and
any FMS VNAV flight director mode is engaged, a hollow MMaaggeennttaa arrow is
shown on the right side of the airspeed tape and the FMS speed target is
displayed above the airspeed tape.
• Mach Display – A digital display of the present Mach number is shown below
the airspeed tape. The value is displayed when Mach is greater than 0.450
(accelerating) and is removed below 0.400 Mach (decelerating).
With Mach below 0.45, the VSPEED bug values replace the MACH display window
sequentially until the VSPEED bug is displayed on the analog airspeed scale. When
on the ground, if all the takeoff (T/O) VSPEED values have not been set and
selected for display, a VSPEED annunciation (VSPD) is displayed in the window.
When the aircraft is on the ground and the IAS is less than 30 knots, the bottom
half of the airspeed tape is replaced with VSPEED values in the following order:

R Rotate
1 V1 (Takeoff Decision)

Primary Flight Display Section [Airspeed Display]
• Airspeed Rolling Digit Display – A rolling digit display of the current
indicated airspeed (IAS) within the display window. The digits inside the
window are GGrreeeenn. When the current airspeed is equal to or exceeds the
maximum allowable airspeed (VMO), the digits turn RReedd. When the airspeed
trend vector exceeds VMS by 1kt, the digits turn AAmmbbeerr unless a red alert
indication is required.
NOTES:
1. If the flaps are fully extended, the airspeed digits turn RReedd if that
flap/slat speed limit is exceeded, or AAmmbbeerr if the airspeed trend
vector exceeds their speed limit by 1kt.
2. When the airspeed is less than 1.1 VS, the airspeed digits turn RReedd.
3. When the airspeed trend vector enters the less than 1.1 VS area, the
airspeed digits turn AAmmbbeerr.
• FD Airspeed Mode/Mach Reference Bug and Display – The
airspeed/Mach reference bug and display are shown only when the flight
director flight level change (FLC) mode or an FMS VNAV mode is engaged.
The pilot-adjustable readout is displayed above the airspeed tape. The
reference bug is shown on the outer right side of the airspeed tape. The
readout and the bug are CCyyaann for the FLC mode, and MMaaggeennttaa for FMS
VNAV.
• Maximum Speed (MAX SPD) Annunciation – When the active flight
guidance system has entered MAX SPEED mode, a flashing AAmmbbeerr MAX SPD
displays to the right of the upper part of the airspeed tape.
• VSPEED Bugs – VSPEED bugs corresponding to speeds for various phases of
flight can be displayed on the PFD. The VSPEED bugs travel along the right side
of the airspeed tape and are defined as follows:

• 3-color Low Speed Awareness Bar – The low speed awareness bar looks
like a termometer and moves along the lower right inside of the airspeed
tape. The annuciator has three segments: white, yellow and red. Each color
represents angles of attack (AOA) defined as follows:

• IAS Analog Scale – The airspeed tape is a moving scale with fixed pointer.
The scale markings on the tape display in 10kt increments. The digits move
vertically, with higher airspeeds at the top of the display. Markings are white.

Primary Flight Display Section [ADI Display]
• Flight Director (FD) Mode Annunciations – The FD mode annunciations
are displayed full time on both PFDs. The lateral mode annunciations are
located on the left hand corner of the mode annuciation area above the ADI.
The vertical mode annunciations are located on the right hand corner of the mode
annunciation area above the ADI. Armed modes are displayed in white characters,
and captured modes are show in green characters. The captured annunciator flashes
for 5 seconds after the capture logic is satisfied.
• Roll Scale – The roll scale is linear with white markings at 10°, 20°, 30°, 45°
and 60° of roll. The 30° mark is highlighted with a double stroke tick mark.
A triangle marks 45° of roll. The sky pointer is filled in and protected. The
roll index center mark is also filled in.
• Flight Director Couple Arrow – The arrow above the ADI indicates the PIFD
that has been selected as the navigation source for both FDs. In the dual
couple mode, the arrow points both ways.
NOTE: The arrow is GGrreeeenn when the on-side FD is being displayed. When the
cross-side FD is being displayed, the arrow is AAmmbbeerr
• Vertical Track Alert (VTA) Annunciation – When VNAV is selected, a VVTTAA
flashes on for one second and off for a half second above the vertical
deviation scale, when appropriate. The input is generated by the selected
FMS, 60 seconds before a vertical track change is commanded.
• Slip-Skid Indicator – The bottom half of the roll pointer is a slip-skid
indicator that indicates lateral slip-skid acceleration.
• Pitch Scale – The pitch scale consists of white scale markings, with reference
marks every 5° from 0° to 30°. Red excessive pitch warning chevrons are
displayed at 45° and 65° pitch up and at 35°, 50° and 65° pitch down.
• Command Bar – Command bars display a desired attitude as computed by
the FD. The command bar data source is selected using the flight guidance
controller PFD SEL button. Command bars can be either Single Cue or
Crosspointer.

Primary Flight Display Section [ADI Display]
• Attitude Sphere – The attitude sphere consists of the sky and ground raster,
the pitch tape, the roll pointer and scale, and the aircraft symbol.
• Aircraft Symbol – The yellow aircraft symbol is a reference that is displayed
in the center of the attitude sphere.
• AP Engage Annunciator – The AP engage is annunciated by displaying a
green AP in the upper left of the ADI.
• Radio Altitude Display – The display of actual radio altitude is located at
the lower part of the ADI sphere.
• Marker Beacon – The marker beacons are displayed outside the lower right
corner of the attitude sphere. Each flashes when it is displayed in a colored
box, described below:

• Approach Altitude Set Reference and Data – The radio altitude decision
height set data (RA) is in the lower right corner of the ADI. When a
barometric altitude alert value is selected, the RA tag is replaced by a BARO
tag.
• Approach Altitude Alert Annunciator – When actual radio altitude
decreases to within 100ft of the radio altitude (RA) set value, an empty box is
placed in the upper left corner of the ADI airea. When actual radio altitude is
equal to or less than the set value, a MIN is placed in the box.

Full Compass Display [Rose]
The heading display is a 360° compass rose. The cardinal headings are labeled N, S,
E and W. All other headings are labeled with one or two-digit degree markings. The
scale markings are in 5° increments. The compass rose and markings are white.
• Heading Bug – The heading bug rotates around the compass. It is
positioned by rotating the HDG select knob on either remote instrument
controller. Directly below the label is a digital display of the currently
selected heading bug value. The heading bug and digital display are cyan.
• Approach Barometric Altitude Set – The BARO digital readout can be set
on the PFD bezel controller. The value replaces the radio altimeter value on
the ADI. The BARO digits are cyan. The RA label is replaced with BARO. The
display is removed when the value is set to less than 20ft.
• NAV Distance – The NAV source distance is displayed in the upper right of
the HIS. The distance displayed is distance to the station for a short-range
NAV, and the distance to the next waypoint in long-range NAV. A navigation
station ID is displayed directly below the distance data. If NAV is selected on
the source controller, the ID is the navigation station that the radios are
tuned to. If FMS was selected on the source controller, the identifier is
removed from the FMS.
• Active NAV Course Pointer – The course pointer rotates around the center
of the compass rose. When short-range NAV is selected, the course pointer is
positioned by rotating the CRS knob on the Remote Controller. Pushing the
PUSH DIR button syncronises the course pointer to the selected NAV source
bearing. Course pointer data is displayed in the upper left corner of the HIS
region. If short range NAV is selected the label is CRS. If long range NAV is
selected the label is DTK [Desired Track]. A digital display of the current value
appears directly below the label.
• Preview Course Pointer – When FMS is the displayed navigation source on
the PFD, an ILS or VOR course can be previewed.

• Bearing Pointers – The pilot can display bearing pointers on the heading
arc. The pointers rotate around the heading arc center. Source selections
come only from the on-side source controller. The annunciator is displayed in
the lower left hand corner of the HSI area, it’s color matches the bearing
pointer color.
• TO/FROM Indicator – The TO indicator is a solid white triangle in front of
the aircraft symbol, and the FROM indicator is a solid white triangle behind
the aircraft symbol.
• Course Deviation Indicator (CDI) – The CDI is the center part of of the
course pointer. The pointer and the four dot deviation scale move inside the
compass rose.
• Preview Navigation Source – The preview NAV source annunciation
indicates the source of the displayed preview course pointer.
• Course/Desired Track Readout – The course/desired track digital readout
is the current course for short range navigation or desired track for long
range navigation.
• NAV Source Annunciators – The selected NAV source displayed on the CDI
is transmitted from the on-side source controller. The selected source is
annunciated in the upper left corner of the HIS area. If pilot and copilot are
on the same source, or both are on the cross-side source, the label turns
yellow.
Primary Flight Display Section [Vertical Speed Display]
• VS Target Display and Bug – The vertical speed target and bug are
displayed when the vertical speed mode is engaged. The VS target bug
moves along the inside of the VS scale. The digital readout of the target and
an up/down arrow that indicates target direction are displayed above the VS
scale.
• VS Digital Display – Current vertical speed is displayed in a box on the VS
scale’s zero reference line, in green. The readout is readable to a 50fpm
resolution within +/- 1000fpm, and 100fpm above +/- 1000fpm. The
maximum value is 9999fpm. For speeds less than +/- 550fpm, the digital
display is removed.
• TCAS Modes – The TCAS mode annunciations are displayed under the
vertical speed indicator.
• Vertical Speed Analog Scale – The VS tape is a white fixed arc scale with
moving pointer. It indicates +/- 3600fpm.

Multi Function Display Section [MFD Display]
The MFD includes the following display formats:
• MFD Map
• MFD window area
o Systems page display
o TCAS display.
The MFD bezel controller is located at the bottom of the MFD. Pilots use it to access
supplemental flight information through the < menu select key, the five menu item
keys, and a rotary knob that sets menu parameters.
• < Arrow Button – The arrow button selects one of the two main menus, or
is used as a return key when a submenu is displayed.
• Rotary Knob – The rotary knob is used to control the range of the map
display. Some menu selection buttons change the knob function so it can set
flight parameters.
• Submenu Selection – Submenus can be selected from the Main Menu, and
submenu options selected, by pushing corresponding buttons.
Multi Function Display Section [PFD Setup]
Push the button below PFD SETUP on the main MFD MENU.
• FD CMD (Flight Director Command) CUE – The Flight Director command
cue can be selected between Single cue (SC) and Crosspointer (CP). The
command cue can be cycled ON and OFF.
• FLIGHT PATH – not implemented.
• BARO – Pushing the menu key below BARO toggles between barometric
altimeter correction units of either in. Hg (IN) or hPa (HPA). The box
indicates current selection.
• METRIC ALT (Altitude) – Pushing the menu key toggles between selecting
and deselecting this setting. When selected, the digital display of barometric
altitude is displayed in meters below the altitude tape on the PFD.

Multi Function Display Section [MFD Setup]
Push the button below MFD SETUP on the main MFD MENU.
• VORS – When selected, VORS adds nearby VOR and VOR/DME symbols to
the map display.
• APTS – When selected, APTS adds nearby airport symbols to the map
display.
• TRAFFIC/TERRAIN – This selection adds TCAS traffic information to the
map display. TERRAIN is not implemented.
• V PROF – When selected, the flight management system vertical navigation
data is displayed on the MFD in a vertical profile view.
• WIND – This selection toggles between showing the wind as either an X/Y
component or single wind vector.
Multi Function Display Section [ET/FT Timer]
Push the button below ET/FT TIMER on the main MFD MENU.
• The ET SET MFD elapsed time display can be set to a starting value. The
initial value for ET is dashes (indicating no set time), and the dashes are
boxed in cyan. The label ET is displayed above the rotary knob. Rotate the
rotary knob to set the ET value.
• When the proper ET is set, push the menu button below ET SET. The ET SET
title and data are boxed and the ET value is displayed on the MFD clock.
• Start the ET clock on the MFD by pushing the ET button on the DC, or the ET
on the bezel menu.
• The FT TIMER is displayed full time on the bezel menu.
Multi Function Display Section [EICAS Systems]
Push the button below EICAS SYS on the main MFD MENU.
• FUEL HYD – Display the EICAS FUEL/HYD data in the popup window.
• ELEC – Display the EICAS ELEC data in the popup window.
• APU – Display APU data in the popup window.
• ENG – Display the EICAS ENG data in the popup window.
Multi Function Display Section [V Speeds Setting]
Push the button below V SPEEDS on the main MFD MENU.
• T/O SPEEDS – Takeoff V SPEEDS (V1, VR, V2) can be set either manually or
automatically.
• LNDG SPEEDS – Landing V SPEEDS (VAPP, VREF) can be set either manually
or automatically.
NOTE: Automatic input is only available with an active flight plan, after
performance/takeoff initialization is complete.

Multi Function Display Section [Common Elements]
• Flight Plan Display – Symbols used on the MFD map display include the
following:
o 26 FMS-supplied map waypoints.
o 6 airports.
o 24 VOR,VOR/DME or DME-only navigation aids.
The map waypoints are connected by a navigation track line.
NOTE: VOR. VOR/DME, and DME only symbols (white) indicate navaid on
primary channel.
• DME Distance Display – Annunciated only if PFD HSI nav source is FMS.
• Range Ring – Range is set using the MFD menu RANGE setting function.
The half-range is displayed at the bottom of the half-range arc.
• Airport – Area airports are displayed with a white circle.
Multi Function Display Section [Common Elements]
• Lower Right Display Window – The lower right window display is divided
into two boxes. Annunciations for the top box are generated by the selected
FMS.
o WAYPOINT DISTANCE – The distance to the next waypoint is on the
first line. The distance range is from 0 to 4095nm. Below 100nm the
distance resolution is 0.1nm.
o WAYPOINT IDENTIFIER – The identifier for the active waypoint is
displayed on the second line.
o ESTIMATED TIME EN ROUTE (ETE) – The ETE to the active waypoint is
displayed on the third line of the box.
Annunciations for the bottom box include the following:
o STATIC AIR TEMPERATURE (SAT) – SAT is displayed on the first line of
the bottom box.
o TRUE AIRSPEED (TAS) – TAS is displayed on the second line of the
bottom box.
o GROUNDSPEED (GSPD) – GSPD is displayed on the third line of the
bottom box.
• Lower Left Window Display – The lower left window display is divided into
two boxes.
o CURRENT TIME – Current time is displayed on the first line of the top
box in universial coordinated time (UTC), on a 24 hour clock.
o ELAPSED TIME – Elapsed time is shown on the third line of the top box.
• Wind Display – Wind information is displayed midway down the left side of
the MFD, in either X/Y or vector format.
• Heading Display – The compass rose consists of an expanded 120* arc
divided into 5* increments and labeled every 30*.

Multi Function Display Section [Common Elements]
• NAV Source Annunciator – The NAV source annunciator, in the upper right
hand corner of the MFD, displays which FMS is generating the displayed flight
plan data.
• Heading Lubber Line – Marks the current heading.
• Drift Bug – A magenta drift bug shows ground track.
• Lateral Deviation Display – Lateral deviation is shown as an alphanumeric
digital display. L indicates the aircraft is left of course and R indicates right of
course.
• Heading Select Bug and Digital Readout – Desired heading is selected
using the remote instrument controller. A digital readout is show in the upper
left corner of the MFD, with a bug displayed on the compass arc.
A-B MODE Toggle
Active FGS [Flight Guidance System]–Is annunciated by the illuminated A or B
indicators located on either side of the AP and YD buttons.
• Active FGS – When the Autopilot and Yaw Damper are in a normal no-failure
condition the FGS [Flight Guidance System] is auto selected to A and is
Active while illuminated.
• Active FGS Toggle– The pilot may select the rightmost B FGS [Flight
Guidance System] from the MFD [Multi Function Display] Bezel Controller via
the Main 2 Menu to toggle from A-B. If B is selected it will illuminate to
indicate B is Active.
• Avionics FGS Toggle – In addition, the A/B Selection toggles from A-B or
B-A each time the Avionics Switch is powered up.

Engine Indicating and Crew Alerting Section [EICAS]
The EICAS display unit is divided into four areas:
• Primary engine displays
• Stabilizer/trim/flaps/wing surfaces
• Crew alerting system
• System status data.
The EICAS is an integrated digital display system that replaces most traditional
cockpit gauges and warning lights.
The EICAS Controller selects several aircraft system status displays from a single
menu as outlined on following pages.
• NORM/DCLT – Toggles between Normal EICAS and Decluttered EICAS
displays. Powerup condition is NORM.
• The DCLT selection can be made only when the following conditions exist:
o The aircraft is above 18,000ft (indicated).
o No slat or speed brake asymmetry exists.
o Flaps are 0°.
o Slats or speed brakes are not deployed.
Even when the above conditions are met, the DCLT selection remains inhibited if
any unacknowledged warning or caution messages exist.

Engine Indicating and Crew Alerting Section [EICAS]
• FUEL/HYD – Push the FUEL/HYD button to display the fuel and hydraulic
system information page.
• ELEC – Push the ELEC button to display the electrical system information
page.
• CTRL POS – Push the CTRL POS button to display the aileron, elevator and
rudder surface positions.
• ENG – Push the ENG button to display additional engine and APU parameters.
This button also adds digital values to the ITT temperature, oil temperature

Engine Indicating and Crew Alerting Section [Primary Engine Display]
The primary engine displays reside in the upper half of the EICAS. It is divided into
six areas:
• N1 fan (FAN)
• N2 turbine (TURB)
• ITT
• RAM air temperature (RAT)
• Fuel flow, quantity (FLOW, QTY)
• Oil temperature/pressure (OIL °C/OIL PSI)
FAN, ITT, OIL °C, and OIL PSI are gauges. TURB, RAT and fuel FLOW/QTY are digital
readouts.
The engine gauges are vertical fixed scales with moving pointers. Parameters
displayed on the engine display are:
• Analog fan (N1) scales with digital readout.
• Fan (N1) command bug (auto set, and digital readout).
• Fan synchronization (SYNC) annunciation.
• Digital turbine readout.
• Analog ITT scales with digital readout.
• Abnormal ITT range indication.
• Annunciations of ignition (IGN).
• Digital fuel flow (FF).
• Digital fuel quantity readout (left, right, fuselage, total).
• Analog display of oil pressure.
• Analog display of oil temperature.
Engine Indicating and Crew Alerting Section [Fan (N1) Speed Display]
• N1 Analog Scale – Fan speeds of both engines are displayed on a vertical
scale with evenly-spaced markings every 10% from 30% to 90%. Between
90% and 100%, the interval is every 5%. Each engine fan speed is indicated
by a vertical bar moving along the outer edge of the vertical scale.
• Fan Digital Display – The fan digital display gives a digital readout of fan
(N1) RPM as a percent of rotation speed.
• Fan Command Bug – FADEC generates the command bug’s positions.
• FAN Command Digital Display – A digital display gives a numeric readout
of the FADEC command bug.
• FADEC Modes – Mode annunciations for each phase of flight, based on
throttle position, are located near the top of the N1 scale.
• Fan Synchronizer (SYNC) – When the engine synchronizer is selected to
FAN or TURB, SYNC is displayed below the FAN% label.
• Ignition (IGN) – Two IGN annunciators are displayed when ignition is on.
• Digital Turbine (N2) – The digital turbine display shows the speed of the
engine turbine as a percentage of rotation speed.

Engine Indicating and Crew Alerting Section [Interstage (ITT) Turbine]
• ITT Analog Scale – The interstage turbine display vertical scale is marked
with tick marks every 100* C. It is numbered every 200* C up to 700* C,
and every 10* C from 700 to 900* C.
• ITT Digital Display – The ITT digital display is at the bottom of the vertical
scale.
NOTE: The ITT digital display is active only under the following conditions:
o During start mode.
o When ITT limits are exceeded.
o When the EICAS ENG system display is selected.
Engine Indicating and Crew Alerting Section [Fuel]
• Fuel Flow – The FUEL FLOW display is a digital readout of fuel flow in 20
pounds per hour (PPH) resolution.
• Fuel Quantity (QTY) – Fuel quantity is displayed in digits for
o Left Wing
o Right Wing
o Center Tank
o Total
The displays read in 10-pound increments.
Engine Indicating and Crew Alerting Section [Oil Temp\Pressure]
• Analog Oil Temperature – The analog oil temperature display is two filled
vertical bars with a pointer that moves on the outer side of each bar.
• Digital Oil Temperature (OIL TEMP) – The digital display of oil
temperature is displayed in degrees centigrade.
• Analog Oil Pressure Display – The analog oil pressure display is two filled
vertical bars with a pointer that moves on the outer side of each bar.
• Digital Oil Pressure Display – The digital oil pressure readout is displayed
in the lower right and left corners of the oil pressure display.
Engine Indicating and Crew Alerting Section [Ram Air Temperature (RAT)]
• RAT Display – The ram air temperature display is below the ITT analog
scales.
Engine Indicating and Crew Alerting Section [Trim, Flaps, Wing Surfaces]
The stabilizer display is the only EICAS display that can not be selected on the EICAS
menu. These displays are full time displays, except when declutter is active. They
show on the left side and lower third of the right side of the display.

• STAB Position – Stabilizer trim position and digital readout are displayed
directly below the TURB display.
• Flaps – Flap position is indicated by a rotating needle that points to the
selected flap position.
• SLAT/SPOILER/SPD BRK (Speed Brake) – The pictorials for the slat,
spoiler, and speed brake are displayed in the lower right corner of the display.
The surfaces are only displayed when they are deployed. Slat surfaces are
displayed as a solid bar, whereas spoiler and speed brakes display as dashed
bars.
Engine Indicating and Crew Alerting Section [Crew Alerting System (CAS)]
The Crew Alerting System has the following characteristics:
• 12 message lines
• 18 characters per line
• One message status line
• CAS display declutter through the EICAS rotary knob
• Master warning/caution button acknowledgement of messages
• CAS computed system messages
• Aural warning system.
The CAS display is located in the lower center of the EICAS display. The color
convention and priority for messages on the CAS display are as follows:
• RReedd – Warnings (top)
• AAmmbbeerr – Cautions (middle)
• CCyyaann – Advisories (lower)
• WWhhiittee – Status (bottom)
Engine Indicating and Crew Alerting Section [System Status]
The System Pages are displayed in the right-hand third of the EICAS display. The
individual formats can be selected with the EICAS controller.
Engine Indicating and Crew Alerting Section [Fuel\Hydraulics]
When the fuel/hydraulic systems page is selected, additional fuel and hydraulic
information is shown.
• Fuel – The added fuel information includes:
o Fuel flow in pounds/hr
o Fuel quantity, left, right, center, total in pounds
o Left/Right fuel tank temperature
o Left/Right fuel engine temperature
• Hydraulics – The hydraulic display shows hydraulic pressure in pounds per
square inch, quantity and temperature for the left (A) and right (B) systems.
The rudder hydraulic system displays pressure.

The EICAS DC power system displays the following data:
• Generator Volts and Amperes
• Battery Temperature and Volts
Engine Indicating and Crew Alerting Section [Flight Controls (CTRL POS)]
The flight control surface position display shows the position of the aileron, elevator
and rudder surfaces in a box above the wing surfaces display.
Engine Indicating and Crew Alerting Section [Engine System (ENG)]
The Engine System display gives the following information:
• FADEC controlling each engine
• ITT digital read out
• Oil quantity
• Oil temperature, digital and analog
• Oil pressure, digital and analog
• APU
• Engine starting pressure
• Bleed air valve status
