Our Country is Working Hard To Discover & Celebrate Its Identity

Curaçao made the news in lots of ways last month. We

are one of the worlds youngest countries and are work-

ing hard to discover and celebrate our identity.

USA Today: Curaçao in Top 5 Off-season Destinations

USA Today listed our lovely little island in her top 5 of off

season budget travel destinations. Taking a cruise to our

island would be one idea to get to know the island, but

since Curaçao is hardly touched by hurricanes, staying

or a little longer during the hurricane season may a very

relaxing and budget friendly option as well.

Election Day @ October 19th

Discovering your identity is one of the hardest things

in life, and that goes for a young nation as well.

Unfortunately, not all politicians have a countries best

interest in mind. Throughout the interesting political

developments in the past weeks, people have felt safe

and sound on our island, but many of us have our hopes

focussed on moving forward with a new government by

the end of the year.

Celebrating our Identity: Siman di Kultura

One of the ways to celebrate our roots is the Siman

di Kultura that takes place in the fall of every year. In

various ceremonies and performances we show off

our cuisine, arts and traditions to residents, vistors and

school children. Have you visited one of these events?

For the fourth year in a row, Curaçao residents and visitors

can get to know or just plainly enjoy a great variety of restau-

rants during the 2012 edition of the Curaçao restaurant week.

During this week, starting October 8th and finishing October

14th, restaurant owners get to show off their specialties and

visitors get to enjoy 3-course menus that were specially com-

posed for this event. At a great price as well, menus are set at

Nafl 49.50 per person, excluding drinks. During the previous

edition, more than 8000 people frequented the 40 participat-

ing restaurants. This week, 42 restaurants participate and are

looking forward to be hosting even more visitors. For more

information visit the Restaurantweek website at http://

RE/MAX Encounter of the Americas

Curaçao Restaurant Week 2012

Various sales associates with RE/MAX BonBini Curaçao have

participated in the RE/MAX Encounter of the Americas last

week in Miami, Florida. During the event, they were encour-

aged to participate in courses, workshops and seminars to

update and extend their knowledge allowing them to even

better serve their clients. Needless to say, networking is a big-

gie during these events as well. RE/MAX offers its associates

a sophisticated and rewarding system to exchange national

and international referrals. Since many of the buyers of real

estate on our island come from other countries, it is easy to

imagine what a little networking can do for ones business.

International referrals are one of the reasons that RE/MAX

agents process the top average number of real estate trans-

actions per associate as compared to other international real

estate brands. This proves their slogan “no one sells more

real estate than RE/MAX” time and time again. Do you need

help with a real estate transaction? Contact us today for more

information.
