Main objectives• Scientific cooperation, support to South research teams• Increase commitment of “young” south scholars and

researchers in international scientific debate and local expertise on food security

• Improve co-expertise on F.S. in the universities centers and support larger commitment of university south experts in their national expertise arena

• Partnership with the Belgian cooperation– Follow-up Committee (DGCD, BTC, FBSA…)– Platforms in Belgium DASA, PFSA – Moved closer dialogue with local belgian cooperation

An empirical, comparative and multidisciplinary

approach- Not a “one more concept” !- Not mainly on conceptual battlefield+ Multidisciplinary analysis+ A really supporting knowledge+ A more comprehensive approach+ Close focus on local situations but integrated approach including :

- poor urban family resilience and collective innovations (Kinshasa) : the breakdown of a family model

- gender, food access and nutrition in rural Niger

- local and regional markets (Niger, RDC)- Aid business and international

commitments

• Niger issues : food availability-food access, food politics, food arena (collective and institutional actors), aid, national regulation, fooding and gender : four PhD research programs
