    Cape Town is a city like no other. Its bsiness district, specialty shops, hotels, restarants

    and renowned attractions all within the immediate downtown setting o the Cape TownInternational Convention Centre.

    The centralised and compact natre o the city means that walking is oten the transport

    AuDITORIA

    Its two aditoria, which oer excellent technological inrastrctre and sperb acostics,also provide dedicated tiered seating or large plenary sessions, lectres, prodct

    lanches, award evenings and theatre prodctions. Both aditoria have writing tables

    attached to the seats.

    AuDITORIA 1

    Aditorim I seats 1 500 gests and is eqipped with a large stage and screen,

    six translation booths, an orchestra pit and a projection room. Adjacent to the large

    aditorim are VIP meeting sites and dressing rooms to accommodate speakers or the

    cast o theatre prodctions. Its spacios oyer enables delegates to enjoy rereshments,

    register, and network or view conerence-related exhibits with ease. A designated exterior

    smoking terrace leads o the oyer o Aditorim I.

    AuDITORIA 2

    Aditorim II seats 620 delegates and is also eqipped with a stage, a screen and sixtranslation booths. This vene is ideally located o the Strelitzia Conservatory and can be

    accessed rom level 1 o the centre.

    TWO STORY GALLERY

    From its striking aade to its extraordinary fexibility, the Cape Town International

    Convention Centre is an inspiring vene.

    The centre is designed to meet and ll the niqe and varied needs o delegates and

    visitors. Its sb divisible mlti-se convention acilities and dedicated exhibition space

    create a condcive environment or a variety o nctions to occr simltaneosly.

    One o the otstanding eatres o the CTICC is its imposing, two-storey gallery that

    extends the ll length o the centre, linking all its venes in a highly cohesive way.

    The centres design lends itsel to a smooth fow and circlation o visitors. From major

    medical and scientic conventions hosting thosands o delegates to consmer exhibitions

    and trade shows, as well as intimate meetings and events, the CTICCs extraordinary

    adaptability makes it accommodating and accessible.

    GRAND BALLROOM

    The magnicent, mltinctional 2 000m grand Ballroom and its ll rontal aade

    provide striking views o the vibrant city and the Table Montain range. The grand

    Ballroom can be divided into a 6040 split by means o sondproo acostically clad

    partitioning.

    THE ROOF TERRACE

    The Roo Terrace Room, sitated on Level 2, provides spectaclar views o TableMontain. Natral light fows into the room rom three sides, and motorised blinds allow

    or blackot. The Roo Terrace Room incldes a dedicated interior and exterior terrace,

    allowing fexible sage o this prime space.

    EXHIBITION SPACE

    The CTICC provides over 11 200 m o dedicated, exhibition and trade show space.

    The Exhibition halls are sb-divisible and can be congred into six separate venes or

    smaller exhibitions, banqets or conerences.

    The Exhibition halls provide rectanglar space with a ceiling height o between 9 and

    18 m. Access to power, water and data connections is available every 4.5 m throghot

    the halls.

    Both the ceiling and the foor load have been designed to accommodate heavy indstrialor commercial exhibits (with foor loading o p to 3 000 kg/m ). Large moveable doors

    are well positioned to accommodate access to an adjacent and expansive 6 000 m

    Marshalling Yard, creating convenient access and saving exhibition bild-p and break-

    down time.

    MEETING ROOMS

    For spacios and delxe Meeting Rooms o varying sizes each accommodate p to

    330 delegates. The meeting rooms are sb-divisible and can be set p or a variety

    o congrations.

    The 13 Meeting Sites, many o which overlook the Exhibition halls, are well eqipped and

    vary in size, accommodating p to 25 delegates each. Several dedicated conservatories

    and landings complement the meeting reqirements o event organizers.

    CLIVIA, STRELITZIA AND JASMINuM CONSERVATORIES

    The convention centres mltinctional restarants are the Strelitzia and the Jasminm.

    Both are accessible rom several venes and the Exhibition halls and are adjacent to the

    Clivia, Strelitzia and Jasminm conservatories. The spacios conservatories are fooded

    with natral light and srronded by indigenos fora.

    CONVENTION SQuARE

    The centres Main Foyer leads o Convention Sqare, a grand piazza that overlooks the

    Roggebaai Canal and the Westin Cape Town. Convention Sqare links the road network

    to the centres walkways and parking areas.

    REGISTRATION FOYER

    The Registration Foyer provides a spacios area dedicated to the ecient registrationo large nmbers o conerence delegates. Ideally located o the main oyer on the

    grond foor, this fexible space can be adapted to sit the particlar needs o conerence

    organizers.

    COFFEE ON THE SQuARE

    For the convenience o its delegates and visitors, the CTICC has varios acilities located in

    the main entrance oyer, o Convention Sqare. Take a break and try Coee on the Sqare

    or its comortable coches, relaxed atmosphere, and excellent beverages and snacks.

    MARIMBA

    Marimbas award winning dcor celebrates the origins and energy o the Marimba,

    the traditional wooden Arican xylophone. Its shapes and images are refected in the

    restarant and bars stone, wood and steel rnishings, delicios men oers everything

    rom traditional Arican bread in individal earthenware pots to wild game, scclentbee and poltry, resh Cape seaood, garden-resh salads and vegetables.

    CONNECTD TO CAPE TOWN

    Entrepreners and companies doing bsiness in Cape Town will have access to a powerl

    new acility throgh Connectd Cape Town. This bsiness-led initiative will bring together

    a mltitde o stakeholders in the Cape Town region. It is aimed at developing and

    MEDICAL CENTRE

    A ree on-site medical clinic, staed by a ll-time registered nrse with specialist training

    in emergency care, is eqipped or medical emergencies and the provision o rst aid.

    PARKING

    There are 1 400 secre on-site parking bays or visitors. The complex is disabled-riendly,

    with international-standard wheelchair access, designated drop-o points and parking

    bays, toilets or the physically challenged and elevators with Braille characters.

    advanced IT network composed o an essential bre-optic backbone and more than

    1 800 CAT5E data points located across the exhibition halls, meeting venes and pblic

    spaces as well as a wireless LAN in all the pblic galleries - ensres that every conerence

    and event rns smoothly.

    As an indstry leader, the CTICC is constantly implementing ctting-edge initiatives. It is

    the only convention centre on the Arican continent to have its work processes certied

    to the internationally recognised systems standards.

    The CTICCs catering division is managed by a highly motivated team o talented,

    internationally trained ches. The centres HACCP-certied kitchen acilities are the largest

    and most advanced in the Western Cape, and can cater or any event, any bdget and

    any nmber o people with fair, riendliness and extreme eciency. Or ches are able

    to provide inspiring, qality men options and will cstomise their catering to meet the

    diverse needs o event organisers.

    AuDIO VISuAL AND SOuND

    State-o-the-art visal eqipment, copled with a solid sond and inormation technology

    inrastrctre, means that we can oer yo a package o lly integrated technology

    soltions to meet yor specic reqirements.

    Throgh or exclsive in-hose adio-visal spplier, CTICC AV, we can spport yor

    event with a range o wired and wireless systems and services. These inclde microphone

    management, simltaneos interpretation, and adience participation and voting

    systems as well as video- and tele-conerencing and video- and adio-taping services.

    Speakers are assisted with a range o presentation management systems that allow

    presentations to be pre-loaded on a central server and delivered, throgh the centreswireless network, to presentation compters in each meeting room.

    Permanently installed sond systems in the aditoria and pblic areas and ad io acilities

    in the exhibition halls are available or se.

    Adio-visal and sond eqipment can be hired rom or in-hose spplier.

    RIGGING

    In compliance with national saety standards, the specialist spplier, CTICC rigging,handles all rigging reqirements rom hanging and removing signs, to secring banners

    and lights.

    Height access and liting eqipment can be hired rom the Operations Department,

    whose inventory o items inclde a cherry picker, telescopic lit, vertical hoist, alminim

    scaolds, electronic orklit and pallet jack. As part o the service, a driver is available to

    operate all mobile eqipment.

    SECuRITY

    For complete peace o mind, the CTICC have a network o strategically located srveillance

    cameras and highly trained secrity ocers located along the perimeter o the bilding,

    at major entrances and exits and throghot the pblic areas.

    As an exclsive spplier to the centre, CTICC Secrity are dedicated proessionals whowork in co-operation with the City Police.

    Shold special secrity reqirements, sch as the hiring o bodygards, be needed, this

    can be prearranged or an additional ee. Event organisers may se their own secrity

    personnel, provided it is by prior arrangement and limited to the hired venes.

    CLEANING

    CTICC Cleaning is an exclsive vendor that provides essential and top qality services or

    all the pblic areas, meeting rooms and the Ballroom. By special arrangement, additional

    clearing p ater exhibitions can be acilitated by the team.

    STAND CONSTRuCTION

    The CTICC Stand Bilding team have the expertise to assist with a range o stand bildingoptions. Shold exhibitors make se o their own contractors, they mst sbmit foor

    plans to the events co-ordinator or approval 3 months prior to bild-p and provide a

    strctral engineers certicate or stands over 3 metres high.

    EQuIPMENT

    International best practice and standards gide the selection o eqipment sed in the

    CTICC. Sperior qality mobile bars, registration tables, chairs, desks, inormation desks,

    and tea and coee stations are available or se throghot the bilding.

    FREIGHT HANDLING

    CTICC Freight Handling provides any reight handling or cstoms clearing service

    on reqest. As the CTICC preerred spplier, they also oer o-site storage or early

    deliveries, late despatches and the containment o packaging material and will assist with

    the movement o large eqipment within the CTICC.

    WASTE REMOVAL

    By applying sstainable practices, the CTICC strives to redce the environmental impact

    o all events held at the centre. Extensive se is made o resable items, inclding table

    linen, ctlery and glassware, while a high volme o waste material generated by the

    centre is separated on site and recycled. The CTICCs strict recycling policy applies to all

    events that take place in the exhibition halls.

    The NOW initiative epitomises CTICCs commitment to sstainability o the organisation.

    In addition to ormalising the organisations environmental commitment, the NOW

    initiative has expanded to inclde spplier accreditation.

    The CTICC is the rst convention centre in Arica to become a signatory to the uN Global

    Compact, a strategic policy initiative or bsiness that are committed to aligning their

    operations and strategies with niversally accepted principals in the areas o hman

    rights, labor, environments and anti-corrption.

    CORPORATE SOCIAL INVESTMENTAs a convention centre with a clear commitment to contribting towards the sstainable

    economic development o the Western Cape and Soth Arica as a whole, the CTICC is

    determined to do whatever it can to plit the commnities in which it operates.

    To achieve this, the centre has a dedicated Corporate Social Investment Programme that

    ocses on spporting selected charities throgh the contribtion o prodce, eqipment

    ENERGY EFFICIENCY

    All escalators in the centre are tted with sensors that ensre they only work when

    stepped on. Motion sensors ensre that lights are switched o when meeting rooms are

    vacant and timers in the parking garage modlate lighting levels or energy eciency.

    WASTE MINIMISATION

    CTICC is crrently enhancing its recycling programme so that waste can be sorted at

    sorce prior to collection. This will serve to divert waste rom landlls and ensre the

    processing or treatment o recyclable waste in an environmentally sstainable manner.

    EVENT GREENING

    CTICCs environmental commitment extends beyond its own practices and the centre

    assists its clients to redce their carbon ootprint by means o green event package

    options designed to be both memorable and environmentally sond.

    MY TREE IN AFRICAMy tree in Arica allows conerence delegates to oset the environmental impact o their

    Art has always played a pivotal role at the CTICC, and it has p rodly served as a showcase

    o talent that celebrates individal expression and talent whilst refecting the diversity o

    artwork on the continent and region.

    BAOBABS, STORMCLOuDS, ANIMALS AND PEOPLE

    The main entrance oyer o the CTICC immediately evokes the spirit o Arica and the

    Cape throgh its chosen pieces. It serves as a symbol o interaction and collaboration

    between the late San artist /Toi Steaans Samcia and award-winning artist Brett Mrray.

    Entitled Baobabs, Stormclods, Animals and People the striking 28 x 8 metre relie

    sclptre is inspired by /Toi Steaans dreams and childhood memories o hnting

    gemsbok and walking in natre.

    RESERVOIR

    Local artist, Gavin Yonge, prodced the Reservoir collection o artwork, with woven

    wire and metal storage vessels sspended rom the roo on the Heerengracht side o thecentre and against the backdrop o Table Montain.

    WOVEN BOAT HuLLS

    The second piece is woven boat hlls, encapslating the seaaring traditions that have

    infenced the evoltion o the Cape.

    SOuTH AFRICA ACROSS CuLTuRAL SPECTRuM

    Drawing inspiration rom the 2010 World Cp, Design Indaba lanched a campaign in

    December 2009 that called on Soth Aricans across the cltral spectrm to express

    themselves throgh translating photographic proles o themselves into a medim o

    their choice.

    This permanent exhibition has been installed in an area dedicated to showcasing the

    creative fair o the 11-member team.
