Product characteristics
'colourful coat' is considered an absolute innovation in the world of cutting tools!
The coating consists of several aluminium oxide layers which have a thickness of 500 to 700 nanometres. At this thickness, aluminium oxide which is normally black becomes transparent and breaks the light as in a prism. As a result the insert shimmers in green and red.
Operators are able to recognize wear instantly thanks to the coloured coating as it changes the surface structure and thus the colouration of the cutting edge.
Application example:
Part-off of shaft: Ø 58 mm to centreMaterial: 42CrMo4 (1.7225) – 850 N/mm2
Cutting data: vc = 180 m/min f = 0.15 mm
