CTC continues to expand abroad. Since opening its CTC Asia subsidiary in Hong Kong in 1996, CTC has opened more laboratories and inspection offi ces to build a network that is close to its clients in China, India, Vietnam, Tunisia, Portugal, USA and Spain. With the opening of its new CTC Wenzhou offi ce at the beginning of 2012, CTC now boasts a wide platform of laboratories in Southeast Asia specialized in quality control services for the leather, footwear, leather goods and glove sectors.CTC Wenzhou will offer a local service for audits and ins-pections as well as physical tests, chemical analysis and CE marking, delivered by CTC-accredited laboratories.CTC experts, who share unique know-how and platforms which are entirely dedicated to developing their clients’ business activities, boast unparalleled skills that give clients access to unmatched resources: monitoring of trends and technical, economic and regulatory changes. NewsopeninGCTC Wenzhou is open!The opening in January 2012 of CTC Wenzhou, its fourth office in China confirms CTC’s expansion as well as its desire to accompany some of its most important clients present in this key sourcing area. This opening shall enable CTC to establish its long-term presence in one of China’s most dynamic footwear manufacturing areas which has a strong focus on safety footwear production dedicated to European and American markets.CTC Wenzhou will directly offer CTC auditing, inspection, physical testing, chemical analyses and CE Marking services to footwear trading companies, international retailers and safety footwear factories in the region, thereby providing greater proximity and responsiveness to their requests for customized quality solutions. CTC Wenzhou will also be an inspection hub for this area in China.

DevelopmenTCTC reinforCe iTs neTWork in 2012China: new development in 2012CTC shall continue to grow and develop by opening a laboratory in Vietnam and India. CTC provides a global offer dedicated to footwear and leather goods. Our main challenge is to provide our clients with:- Accurate and value-added services for their quality

program (footwear & leather goods expertise, test & inspection program, level of risk, season reviews with CTC recommendations and guidelines, etc.),

- Short Lab turnaround times, - Inspection network coverage for footwear and leather

goods, - Global testing solutions for footwear and leather goods.

In the second half of 2012; CTC will continue its develop-ment in China with the opening of a new location in Fujian province to serve its leading sports footwear industry.

Vietnam, India, Morocco, Tunisia: a new step aheadVietnam is an important country for footwear and leather goods. CTC has been present in Vietnam since 1999 with two offices in Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi. Our activities mainly focus on inspection programs for footwear and leather goods.

In July 2012, we will open a new physical lab dedicated to these two sectors in HCM. Clients will thereby have a local lab to check their quality criteria and prevent any problems. We have already extended our office in HCM and launched the decoration and investment plan.India is the third biggest country in the world for leather products. In 2011, we opened an office in New Delhi, which is managed by Puneet SINGH, our Sales and Marketing Manager. This year, we began to provide inspection and auditing services and we plan to open a lab with full capa-cities for footwear, leather goods and PPE physical testing.At the end of 2012, we intend to launch a chemical lab for RSL and REACh testing. We have already chosen a buil-ding with up to 1000 m² of space and we have launched an investment plan for its decoration and the purchase of equipment. We plan to open our lab in July 2012.

CTC has also strengthened its offer in Morocco (Casablanca) and Tunisia (Tunis). We can provide inspections, auditing and lab services for footwear and leather goods.

> Factory audits: auditing of organization, manufacturing pro-cess, industrial tooling, compliance and product safety.> Social audits: auditing of factory compliance with labour regulations and “codes of good practice” according to inter-national standards SA8000, ICS, BSCI, etc.> Laboratory audits: to check or develop your internal laboratory or your supplier’s laboratory with a lab specialist and a third party, we will defi ne or check the organization of the laboratory, improve standards, train staff and certify the laboratory using pragmatic, methodical and accurate procedures.

CTC is the only inspection company in the whole of China to be accredited by CNAS to inspect footwear, luggage and leather goods.

• Chemical Testing: CTC participates in various working groups, technical committees and round-robin test sessions to defi ne internationals standards. CTC assists you to make sure that you implement the right range of chemical analyses to ensure products are safe and harmless when in contact with a person’s body/skin: Restricted Substances List, Proposition 65, REACh…

• Footwear and Gloves PPE Testing: CTC in China offers compre-hensive PPE testing. Thanks to our labs in Dongguan, Shanghai and Hong Kong, CTC gives its clients close and easy access to testing facilities which correspond to European market and quality standards:

> In China, we have a team dedicated to PPE footwear and gloves to help our clients manage their technical fi le for CE marking certifi cation.> Testing, advice and technical support take place in China. Final CE Marking certifi cation is carried out at our headquarters in France to provide you with European certifi cation.> The innocuousness of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is one of the key criteria of essential health and safety require-ments, as defi ned in European Directive 89/686/EEC. CTC has always complied with regulations when assessing the conformity of products in order to grant the EC mark. All directives and European decisions (azo dyes, dimethylfumarate, organotins, etc.) are taken into consideration and CTC has never limited its expertise to standard-based requirements (pH, chromium VI for example).> An important legislative change took place when the REACh

regulation was implemented. All the restrictions are included in Annex XVII “Restriction on the manufacture, placing on the market and use of certain dangerous substances, mixtures and articles” (Commission Regulation (EC) N° 552/2009).

CTC has developed a new offer based on China’s GB regulations. For many years, CTC has worked closely with CFT in Fujian (Chinese Inspection and Quarantine Bureau) in the area of lab Testing based on new GB regulations for footwear products.

European brands should perform all the afore-mentioned compulsory tests as well as the recommended tests. In any case, a detailed and rele-vant testing list can be prepared by CTC / CFT teams upon receipt of the footwear samples.Our aim is to support and ensure the success of the process undertaken by Western footwear brands which wish to sell their products in China’s expanding market.For more information about this offer, please contact our CTC offi ces in China:
