    Prayer Concerns

We want to welcome our newest mem-ber, Cindy Brody, who united with us on Sunday, May 26 by Profession of Faith. Cindy has already become active through her participation at the Cross and Flame Café, Wednesday night Bible study, and Sunday afternoon Care Study. She is also looking forward to participating in this summer’s Cross and Flame Road Show. We are delighted to have her unite with us. Be sure to intro-duce yourself and get acquainted.

    Welcome New Members

    Council Oak District Disaster Relief

As people begin to call our churches to ask for assistance by all means we can give it to them. Immediate assistance is always available but here is where we stand as far as clean-up efforts go. Oklahoma is facing significant damage caused by Spring weather. We all know someone who is or has been affected by the recent storms. We will be facing lots of clean up in order to restore homes and lives. We will be in need of ERT and VIM teams to assist in clean up, mucking out and rebuilding efforts. The state looks to be in bad shape, but it is too early to respond to any type of clean up. More rain is on the way and the rivers are not done rising. We are projecting the first week of June as the beginning of clean up. The effects of this flooding go from west to east across the state. Right now, we are in the process of gathering information, meeting with Disaster response partners and setting up staging areas for our teams to be accommodated when we send them.

Missions: Remaining Balances We have done well this year, so far, in paying our Missional Apportionments. These are now divided into Missional Apportionments and Congregational Opportunities. As of the end of May, these are the remaining balances. If you feel so led, please write a check to the church and simply write the name of your mission in the “memo” line.

    Missions

The missions trip to UMCOR Sager Brown was a great success! We are con-sidering a return trip in December if an-yone is interested, please let us know! Also, with the turn of events here in Ok-lahoma, please keep an eye out for any disaster relief after all the flooding and tornadoes. We will be looking for ways to help our congregation, city, state, and country! Please let us know where we can help!

We are so very proud of you! Summer is in full swing! We have many opportunities for service coming up and summer camps! We are excited to began our Thursday service opportunities around the state of Oklahoma. We will be partner-ing with places in the OKC and Tulsa ar-ea! June 20: Skyline Urban Ministries in OKC July 11: Pencil Box in Tulsa July 18: Restore Hope in Tulsa July 25: TBA August 1: Tristeesee Grief Center in Tulsa While summer is in full swing, we ask that you pray for our students! Summer is a tough time for most students because they are out of routine and are often spending a lot of time alone. Praying everyone has a great summer!

    Children’s Director

Due to ongoing responsibilities at school and home, Tabitha is wanting to step out of her responsibilities as co-director of children’s ministries.

She does want to continue helping as a volunteer with the program. But we are now looking for someone to be a part of our children’s program team.

We especially desire someone who has teaching experi-ence (either professionally or extensive training as a vol-unteer) and ability to evaluate and implement Christian curriculum. We also desire someone who can train other volunteer’s in working with children.

If you know someone who might be interested, please have them contact Pastor Schneider or Barbara Collins.

Summer is upon us! We are pausing our Wednesday spiritual adventures until school resumes in August. Our children thoroughly enjoyed giving all our lovely mothers a “kiss”! (They are still talking about it). Ahoy sailors! VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL is coming up soon!!! Come join us June 3rd- 6th from 6-8:30 PM! This will be a team effort and would love to have you aboard! We have a place for anyone who feels led to serve. Please talk with April about what you could be doing! We are looking forward to a fun summer!
