Yellow Class
13 NOVEMBER 2017
Yellow Class have been having a lot of fun this Term! We have been learning about Summertime safety - how to be safe during summertime activities, safety in the sun, safety in the pool and safety at the beach. The students have all been practicing how to apply sunscreen before going out to play and always wear their hat. When on bikes they are being safe by wearing a helmet and following the bike path one way. In the pool they have been practicing entering and exiting the pool safely as well as walking around the pool. The students completed some fabulous craft about being safe by staying between the flags at the beach too.
Yellow class is lucky to get to out to Willoughby Public School twice a week. On Wednesday’s we visit 2R class and engage in activities to promote friendship and teamwork. On Thursdays we get together with our year 5 buddies and have been busy practising our item for the Christmas Concert.
2017 has been a busy year for Yellow Class and all the staff in Yellow are very proud of all the students. They have all shown great improvements in different areas of learning and developed great friendships with one another.

Principal’s Message
Welcome to Week Six,
This is the first week I will be Acting Principal. We will certainly miss Christine while she is away on her well-deserved break. I am available if you have any questions or concerns or just want further clarification on anything while Christine is away.
Term 4 is extremely busy as usual with all regular activities in every class continuing plus added invitations to outside events and excursions as well as practice for our end of year Christmas Concert on 13 December which will be quite the extravaganza. We will also have the Awards Assembly on 8 December, our Graduation & Secondary Social Event on 6 December, as well as final reporting and other special end of year celebrations.
I look forward to seeing all of you at these end of year school events.
We are hoping for a good turn-out for the always wonderful graduation and social. If you haven’t already RSVP’ed and would like to come, the note can be found later in the newsletter—please complete it and send it into school with payment as soon as possible so that we can finalise numbers. I encourage you to bring your middle or secondary child to this enjoyable evening—it is a wonderful chance to connect with other families.
Finally, as you will see further in the newsletter, our fundraising committee has put together three wonderful hampers to be raffled with the winners drawn at the Christmas Concert on 13 December. If you would like to receive a book/books of raffle tickets to sell and/or buy please
let your child’s teacher know or contact the school office. A big thank you to everyone who sent in items for the hampers.

Aqua Class PAGE 3
Aqua class are working hard and having a great term. Everyone focuses on their work and ITP outcomes and are achieving as will be seen in the reports at the end of the term. Social skills are developing well also and the class group enjoys shaking hands and meeting PBEL expectations.
Their feelings and communication lessons with Melinda are going very well and each day they are able to tell us clearly how they feel (see photos). Most days several of the students say they are excited especially when it is a day that they have practice for the Christmas Concert. Friday Community Access has also been exciting with some students enjoying the Wildflower Garden and others achieving fantastic things at the gym.
I hope all parents can join us for the Christmas Concert on ##. It would also be wonderful to have Aqua class represented well at the Middle School and Secondary Social on the 6th of December. Please get your reply in soon for this fun event.
It has been such a great pleasure working with the students and families in Aqua Class this year. Thank you for all of your support.
Janice
