The Billing Block

One of my tasks for our trailer was to create the Billing Block. I completed extensive research into billing block and how they were used. I also looked at existing films with a similar genre to ours to see how there billing block looked.

I did this so that I could perhaps mimic there billings block and create our Billing Block based upon already existing ones so that it would look more professional

and realistic.

Above are a few Billing Blocks which I used to base our Billing Block for Defiance on. I used similar ideas from these Billing Blocks. However, with our target audience being young (16-25) I decided to include multimedia

platforms, and social medias on our final Billing Block.

Description of details• I chose a black background as it seemed more conventional than a white background for the genre we have used, I also felt it looked more effective as a whole and it would be more effective on poster designs. • Following conventions I made any names of people or organisations bigger and any other details smaller. • I decided to make our website blue and the ‘#Defiante’ as I felt it would stand out more, I chose blue as I felt it linked in with the sci-fi element of our genre as well as our ideas for our movie title and other props used within the movie. • I chose to add social media links as I felt this would be more appealing to our audience members, being ages between 16 and 25, they are more likely to be ‘technophiles’ rather than ‘technophobes.’ I used the social networks I felt were the most popular again to appeal to our audience members. I used Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.• We used the actual names of our actors as we wanted to establish that they are not well know, this was because the majority of the actors who have been used typically within this genre are not well known at first, so we are again following conventions for our genre.
