Meeting the needs of our current generation without sacrificing the needs of future generations

vibrant, accessible neighborhoods where
all Detroiters can contribute and benefit
through:
• Collaboration between City departments
and agencies;
• Engagement and partnership among the
City, citizens, and relevant organizations;
and
• Process and policy improvement
• Sustainability Action Agenda launched in
2019
• Established in 2017
• Mission is to facilitate healthy, green,
vibrant, accessible neighborhoods where

• Empowered 14 residents as
Sustainability Ambassadors (2 per
council district) to build local support and
buy-in
• Engaged 6,800+ Detroiters through
townhalls, meetings, web, and surveys
• Worked with 28 City departments though
Interdepartmental Workgroup
• Guided by a Sustainability Advisory
Commission (Co-chaired by Bedrock,
DTE Energy, and DEA)
• Leveraged expertise and technical
support from Bloomberg Associates
and AECOM

acres of impervious surfaces
Our entire bus fleet is now
