SCIENCE STANDARD GRADE LEVEL GRADE 4
MR. CHAMBERS• 4th grade Science
• Strand 1. Concept 2. PO 3. Conduct controlled investigations (e.g. , related to erosion, plant life cycles, weather, magnetism) in life, physical, and Earth and space sciences.
• Objective: At the end of the lesson I will know about plant life cycles and what role pollination plays.
MASTERY • Ability to plant, grow and monitor plant life cycle.
• Documentation (Findings in Journals, Graphing growth)
• Monitoring variables (Pollination, water and light)
• Daily worksheets
• Complete daily tasks i.e. Water, Pollinate, Tend to plant.

• Experiment
MATERIALS• Take home journal
• Cup
• Plants
• Seeds
• Dry Bees
• Water

ACTIVITY• Students will began this experiment by first studying vocabulary words and mastering
their meanings.
• Students will than demonstrate this knowledge as they plant their seeds and watch them grow.
• Over the course of 1 month each student or group of students will monitor the progress of their plants, document their findings and work through controlled exercises that involve variables.
• Once the plant has reached maturity students will have masters, the plant life cycle, pollination and photo synthesis.
RESOURCES• Below you will find a list of resources to acclimate yourselves (parents/guardians) with the
experiment and what your student will be learning over the course of project.
