12. Press the “Hand” button to resume backwash
13. Let the water in the main pit drain down to 1inch above the
bottom of the grates. 14. Turn pump „off‟ once water reaches correct level. (1) 15. Allow water to raise and fill pit about half way 16. Repeat steps 12-15 until water has been filtered. Filtration
should take between 3-6 cycles. 17. Set to normal operation 18. Call Security and let them know pump is up and running.

1. Call Security and let them know you will be shutting down the pump.
2. Turn VFD Switch in Mechanical room to off position. 3. Turn off Steiner pump (5), unplug auto-fill.
4. (1) is the old power supply and is no longer used 5. Slowly pull valve (6) towards you to close 6. Push valve (7) down to open

Gateway Set-up for Normal Operation
1. Make sure pump is in the „off‟ position 2. Pull down valve (9) to close 3. Push up valve (8) to open
4. Pull up on valve (7) to close 5. Push down on valve (6) to open
6. All water which is exiting waste line should stop

7. Turn Auto-fill back on 8. Turn pump to the „VFD‟ position 9. Check pressure gages. The pressure difference should not be more than 9psi
10. Wait at least 15 minutes before you turn the Steiner pump on (5) 11. Call security and let them know pump is on

turned off the pump and turn on the manual fill line. 10. Open heater lines 11. Turn on flow valves (2)
12. Turn on Auto-fill switch (6) 13. Fill pool with fresh water for about 30 minutes and then turn on the Steiner pump (3) 14. Call security and let them know the pump is on.

Steiner Pump Maintenance
1. Unplug pump from outlet 2. Remove „in‟ tubing and „exit‟ tubing by unscrewing white caps 3. Remove pump from the wall 4. On a table unscrew the three screw which are located at the
base of the clear housing cover. 5. Slowly lift the gears up half way and remove old tubing 6. Place gear back down to original position 7. Move the clutch wheel to () position and plug pump into outlet 8. Start tube on one side and slide into the half moon portion of
the gear cover 9. Pump will turn gears slowly, guide tubing around rotating gear
until it reaches opposite side. 10. Turn pump off 11. Make sure tube is level along gear 12. Replace housing screws at the base of Steiner pump 13. Mount pump onto the wall 14. Attach white nuts and tubing to the pump 15. Plug Steiner pump into the outlet 16. Turn clutch wheel to desired speed

Vacuum Maintenance and Operation
1. Move vacuum out to pool deck near the pool edge 2. Attach vacuum head to 16‟ aluminum pole
3. Make sure filter bag and filter pot are clean
4. Screw and tighten on filter bag lid and filter pot lid

5. Place blue hose into the gutter 6. Locate large white tubing

Q: What do I do if the water is cloudy? Why is it cloudy? A: 1. Check the chemicals
- The water is most likely cloudy because the Chlorine level is low

Q: What do I do if the water temperature is really high/low? A: Call in a work order and notify supervisor. Q: What happens if volatilization occurs in the pool? A: Call supervisor, they will shut down pool and notify the schools. Q: What happens if the probe readings are low? A: Check your incoming water valve and make sure it is open enough. Check your outgoing water valve and make sure it is not open too much. Check line for clogs. Q: What if there is no Chlorine flow? A: There is either a small crack in the line, or your insertion point is clogged. Q: What if an alarm is blinking red on the computer? A: The computer will trip for a number of reasons. Most likely the chemicals were low and the system timed out because it ran continuously for too long. Q: Where are the alarm boxes located for the pool?
