    The data bank held at our Technical

    Centre holds information on more than

    12,000 different bulk solids. This

    information ensures that right from thestart, in the planning phase, silos,

    conveying and dosing systems as well

    as mixing technology and packing

    comprehensive test series and

    examination procedures are applied to

    test your products and raw materials

    under realistic conditions - and we can

    The Technical Centre is equipped with

    the latest technology. Air and turbine

    packers, mixers and pneumatic

    conveying systems are placed along

    the test route which a product will pass

    before clients decide to invest in the

    construction of a new plant or the

    optimisation of existing systems. This

    ensures clients have the best

    information available for a sound

    decision.

    Sand...well-processed

    The main component of dry mortar is

    sand. Sand in its original form, however,

    can hardly be used because it is wet

    and its composition is often

    inconsistent.

    Grains in good shape

    Only well-adjusted processing systems

    turn sand into a high-quality raw

    material. Special impact crushers, for

    instance, are used to grind the material.

    These crushers produce only a very

    small share of fillers and form cubic

    grains.

    In the drying process that follows, ourmain focus is to reach a low-end

    temperature while still maintaining low

    energy consumption. The sand cooled

    down to less than 60C is screened to

    obtain the required grain size of the

    different end products.

    Delivery and Storage of Raw Materials

    Whether coarse and wet aggregates or

    pulverised dry products, whether

    delivered by truck or rail, processed

    manually or fully automatic - CPT

    technology feeds products to the silo,

    clean and with hardly any dust. With our

    systems, even product feeding is an

    absolutely clean affair.

    Tailor-made silos

    Together we will find an individual

    solution to suit your specific

    requirements. The quantities handled

    will define the storage volume of the

    Finished product silo with a volume of 40m3and aconical discharge.

    Automated handling of bags or big-bags.

    Delivery of building material by truckwith a loading capacity of up to60t/h.

    silo. Our experiences with different raw

    materials help decide on the correct silo

    type for capacity required. Depending

    on the type of application, steel silos or

    textile silos with either pneumatic or

    mechanical discharge systems, can be

    used.

    The variety from which to choose is

    vast. Quality, however, can best be

    assured when it has been the major

    focus from the planning phase right

    through to the commissioning of a

    plant.

    Weighing and Dosing...The Correct Recipe!

    In short, these two functions define the

    quality of the finished product - with

    regard to quantity, composition and the

    ratio of the different materials to each

    other.

    Individual and efficient

    Depending on the type and throughput

    capacity of the different raw material

    components, different dosing systems

    are used. Tailor-made to meet the

    requirements of each raw material,

    dosing screws, dosing aeroslides,

    dosing gates or, in some cases, flow-

    metering devices are utilised.

    Based on our experience, we

    recommend screws for binding agents,admixtures or additives, which are fed

    with a capacity of up to approx. 100t/h.

    Dosing of additives from big-bags with frequency-controlled dosing screws for 2 - 20t/h.

    Two weighing bins for binding agentswith a volume of 5,000 litres.

    Additive weigher of special steel for filling weight of300kg.

    For higher capacities, dosing aeroslides

    should be used. In cases where

    aggregates cause wear or destroy

    material grains - as is the case with

    quartz sands and pearlites - dosing

    gates are well proven.

    CPT also offers special weighing

    systems for your demands:

    binding agents

    G differential metering weighers for

    sensitive raw materials such as

    colouring pigments or accelerators

    G weighing belts for consecutive

    discharge of aggregates

    The Mixture is Vital

    When mixing dry building

    materials, it is extremely

    important that a consistent

    mixture is produced in the

    shortest time possible.

    This also applies to small

    dosing quantities.

    The Claudius Peters

    turbulence mixer works

    on the principle of

    mechanical fluidised

    beds and achieves an optimum mixing

    quality due to the special arrangement

    of the mixing tools.

    For adding dyes and additives, themixer is equipped with choppers

    moving at a speed of up to 3000 min-1.

    This high speed prevents agglo-

    meration and allows the use of fluids

    and pigments.

    Fast change of products -

    guaranteeing pure products

    To meet the clients' demand of ever-

    shorter delivery times, today's plant

    must be designed for a fast changeover

    from one product to the other while

    guaranteeing that the products are

    absolutely pure.

    With Claudius Peters components this

    is no problem. Our double-discharge

    flap system allows discharge rates of up

    to 99.9 per cent of the mixer gross

    volume. Depending on the case of

    application, hydraulic or pneumatic

    opening systems are used. Both

    systems have one feature in common:

    they are absolutely tight!

    Optimum wear protection for high

    availability

    As abrasive materials are often used in

    dry building materials, for instance

    quartz sand, wear is a crucial

    consideration. Our engineers overcame

    this challenge and the result of their

    efforts is that our mixers offer highestavailability as they are built of the best-

    suited materials and incorporate

    constructional protective measures.

    Secure on Pallets

    Changing from one bag size to another,

    e.g. from 30kg to 40kg, for a new

    product is done by simply pressing one

    button. This is daily routine for the

    operators of our palletising systems.

    In our plants, integrated palletisers cover

    the complete capacity range from 400

    to 4,000 bags per hour with all common

    palletising patterns. Using versatile

    palletising robots, traditional palletisers

    for medium and high capacities or an

    ideal combination of both systems,

    depends on individual clients'

    requirements. The modular design of

    our system allows all these options.

    A foil packing system is the standard for

    all our palletisers to ensure that the

    packed building materials reach clients

    in safe condition. Wrapping, stretching

    or shrinking - for each method we

    deliver the best-suited technology as

    Flexibility does not stop at the Mixer

    When loading bulk materials it is vital to

    make the pure products available to the

    clients in time. In practice, however, it is

    not possible to use a separate silo for

    each finished product.

    Together we will determine the most

    economic solution. This can, on the one

    hand, be direct loading from the mixer

    into the silo truck or site containers or,

    on the other hand, Claudius Peters

    Technologies finished product silos for

    a fast, simple product change. The

    special design of these silos prevents

    segregation of the products.
