USD’s Jones Named Player Of The Week VERMILLION — South Dakota junior first baseman Matley Jones was named Summit League Player of the Week for the period ended April 27. It is the first such honor for Jones, a junior from Lincoln, Neb. Jones batted .647 (11-for-17) during the week with six doubles, five runs scored and three RBIs. Her week included a pair of per- fect performances. She went 4-for-4 with two doubles in a game against Iowa State in Ames on Tuesday. She was 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI in the opening game of the Coy- otes’ three-game sweep of in-state rival South Dakota State. Jones had four multi-hit games during the week. Her slugging percentage was 1.00 and her on-base percentage was .667. Defensively, she had 17 putouts and an assist without committing an error. SDSU Golf Signs Thailand Recruit BROOKINGS — South Dakota State Univer- sity women’s golf coach Jared Baszler an- nounced Monday that Natcha Srimaneerungroj (Bangkok, Thailand) has signed a national letter of intent to play for the Jackrabbits next season. baseman Matley Jones was named SummitLeague Player of the Week for the periodended April 27. It is the first such honor forJones, a junior from Lincoln, Neb.

Jones batted .647 (11-for-17) during theweek with six doubles, five runs scored andthree RBIs. Her week included a pair of per-fect performances. She went 4-for-4 with twodoubles in a game against Iowa State in Ameson Tuesday. She was 3-for-3 with a doubleand an RBI in the opening game of the Coy-otes’ three-game sweep of in-state rival SouthDakota State.

Jones had four multi-hit games during theweek. Her slugging percentage was 1.00 andher on-base percentage was .667. Defensively,she had 17 putouts and an assist withoutcommitting an error.
