All other conditions remain the same. Acknowledge receipt of this Addendum in the space provided on the Bid Form. Failure to do so may subject Bidder to disqualification. The following clarifications are being made to the Bid Documents: 1. In regards to Plan Sheet C-2, please see Tree Preservation Notes regarding construction efforts related to existing roots. 2. In regards to Plan Sheet C-3, the contractor shall not remove the existing concrete bleacher pad on Mendocino Avenue (the north end of the park) and the existing concrete bleacher pad on Michigan Avenue (the south end of the park). 3. In regards to Plan Sheet C-4, the contractor shall not construct the concrete bleacher foundation for the bleachers on Mendocino Avenue (the north end of the park) and shall not construct the concrete bleacher foundation for the bleachers on Michigan Avenue (the south end of the park). 4. In regards to Plan Sheet C-4, for the new asphalt paving east of the existing bleacher pad, asphalt shall only go to the end of the dugout; delete approximately 43 square feet of new asphalt paving. 5. In regards to Plan Sheet C-7, delete bleacher foundation type 1, detail 3 and delete bleacher foundation type 4, detail 6. 6. In regards to bleacher attachment, all bleachers whether on existing concrete bleacher pads or new concrete bleacher pads shall be attached according to Specifications.

7. Owner and Contractor to document pre-existing condition of the bleachers prior to commencement of

work. Any pre-existing condition that warrants repair or replacement will be the responsibility of the Owner. Any repair or replacement that is caused by the Contractor’s work efforts will be the responsibility of the Contractor.

8. On the west side of the Madison Park there is existing possible vehicle access that will be made

available to the Contractor.

9. Please see Attachment “A” for the Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference Agenda and Attendee List. The following information represents responses to interested prospective bidder questions:

10. Question: What are Madison Park’s irrigation zones? Are the sprinklers near the pathway separate from the rest? Answer: Please see Attachment “B” for the Madison Park Irrigation Plan. The information that is presented is for informational purposes and the Contractor shall conduct their own due diligence field investigations.

MANDATORY PRE-BID CONFERENCE AGENDA DATE: Monday, July 30, 2012 at 10:00 AM LOCATION: Madison Park (corner of West Michigan Avenue and North Marine Avenue),

I. PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND BACKGROUND

7. Project Requirements David C.

a) Access in and around Madison Park and the construction site will continue to be used. The contractor will be required to cause minimal interference with access and circulation within Madison Park, as well as adjacent public sidewalks and streets.

b) The contractor will be required to cause minimal interference with Madison Park operations and usage. Madison Park will remain open during construction and the contractor will be required to isolate and protect areas of work.

8. Building Permit David C.

a) A San Joaquin County Community Development Building Department permit is not required.

9. Special Considerations David C.

a) Hours of work could be constrained by events related to keeping Madison Park operational. The contractor must provide planning, scheduling and prevention activities in prosecuting the work to achieve required progress and accommodate normal area activities.

b) The contractor is to secure site to protect the general public, staff and clients of San Joaquin County. The contractor will be required to maintain the adequate protective measures around the site.

c) Contractor laydown and parking areas are to be coordinated with the owner’s representative and is restricted to the limits of work shown on the drawings. Adjacent properties shall not be disturbed without the prior written consent of the owner’s representative.

d) Testing and Inspections are contained in the Project Manual and Plan Sheets; and the Contractor will be required to secure and pay for these services.

II. ADMINISTRATIVE David C.

1. Mandatory Pre-bid Conference for Prime (General) Contractors (Sub-contractors

welcome).

2. Required California Contractor licenses. a) A-General Engineering Contractor b) B-General Building Contractor c) C-12 Earthwork and Paving Contractor

3. Warranties are noted in the contract documents and shall be provided.

a) Bonds in full force during warranty period.

4. Liquidated Damages. a. $250 for each day the work is not completed beyond the time specified. b. If work is completed and accepted by the owner before the time required,

the owner will pay a premium to the contractor at the rate of $100 for each day.

5. Prevailing Wage Job with certified payroll submission upon request.

a) Contractor responsible for determining appropriate rate. b) Questions should be directed to the State of California Director of

Industrial Relations.

6. Contractor should pay attention to the RFI process.

7. Contractor should pay attention to the Propose Change Order process.

a) Contracts estimated by the County to be less than $200,000 do not have a local hire requirement.

5. On Friday afternoon, August 17, the Bid Documents will be removed from the

Purchasing website as an Open Bid and the Bid Documents will no longer be viewable, downloadable, or printable on the Purchasing website.

1. Questions or requests for clarification will only be accepted by the County in

writing. a) Written correspondence directed to the County General Services
