    Dear Friends,

We have been in the Year of Faith since October 11, 2012 and it will be ending next Sunday on the Solemnity of Christ the King. This time was meant for us to focus on our spiritual journey with the Lord, always opening our lives to his presence and celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of the opening of the Second Vatican Council. We attempt to draw closer to the Lord as we believe, live and celebrate our faith.

I will be serving as the spiritual director on a pilgrimage to Rome and Assisi for the end of the Year of Faith, leaving Monday, November 18 and returning on Novem-ber 26. While we are in Rome we will be celebrating Mass with Pope Francis on Christ the King Sunday to close the Year of Faith.

I will remember and pray for each of you and the mission of our parish while I am on this pilgrimage, particularly on Wednesday, November 20 when I celebrate Mass at the tomb of Saint Paul, the great preacher who is so close to the mission of our community.
