** The following section may contain instructions for servicing various components of your vehicle. These arean overview of the process that will be performed by a skilled technician in our shop. They are not intended tobe a guide for a “do-it-yourself” operation.

Below is information we feel would help you better understand some of the reasons for taking preventivemaintenance steps -- steps that help to ensure the reliability and safety of your vehicle for you and your family.

Mold, mildew, fungi, and bacteria grow inside the dark, damp evaporator of the airconditioning heating system. This can cause the quality of the air you breathe inside yourvehicle to be up to 5 times worse than outside air. You may only smell it while using theair conditioner, but until you flush it out, it can affect your health all year long. Theharmful organisms that grow in the evaporator can trigger allergies, asthma symptomsand lung problems for those in the vehicle.

Significance:

Contaminatedevaporator core

Clean evaporator core

AI-31

In order to clean an AC evaporator, a cleansing foam solution must be injected into theentire evaporator core, starting from the intake side. It's not effective to simply spraysomething into the chamber. The cleaning material must fill the chamber from top tobottom. Liquid simply flows through the bottom of the evaporator and out the drain.Foam, however, fills the chamber when it is injected and then is blown by the fanthrough the entire evaporator, neutralizing and ridding the system of harmfulcontaminants and debris. Finally, air intake cleaner is sprayed into the ventilation systemand onto the cabin air filter to complete the entire cleaning process.

Operation Description:

AC evaporator cleaning

Advantage:

If your vehicle smells like dirty socks or a damp basement, the air in your vehicle iscontaminated. Spraying air freshener into the vents or inside the vehicle only masks theodor. The contaminants still remain. By cleaning the evaporator from the inside, throughan AC refresh service, mold, mildew, and other contaminants are eliminated, making theair you breathe free from odors and harmful mold and mildew spores.

This air system is critical to many of the normal operating functions of your vehicle. When your vehicle is "breathing" right your vehicle runs better. When air can't circulateeffectively because of build up and deposits, vehicle performance suffers and your fueleconomy is reduced.

Significance:

Dirty throttle plate

Clean throttle plate

AI-57

Our trained technicians start by disassembling the air intake system. They then clean thethrottle body housing, intake and plate, plenum and air-intake, and intake valves andports. Finally, they remove any combustion chamber deposits. This ensures a correctbalance of fuel and air in the system.

Operation Description:

Air induction service

Advantage:

This service benefits you and your vehicle by reducing emissions, restoring horse power, and increasing fuel economy. It also allows your vehicle to start and idle more smoothlyand run more quietly.

If you have experienced steering pump noises, hard or erratic steering, or pump leaks, it'sprobably time to have your vehicle’s power steering system serviced. The power steeringpump produces high pressures (between 800–2,000 lbs./400 – 1‚000 kg, depending onmodel) and high heat. Heat + pressure = fluid breakdown/failure; fluid failure = powersteering pump and/or rack failure; power steering pump and/or rack failure = costlyrepair.

Significance: Power steering spoolvalve with hardened

cracked seals

Grooves worn into thehousing by hardened

seals

AI-89

One of our skilled technicians with specialized equipment will use a powerful cleaner todissolve and suspend the varnish and gums in your vehicle’s power steering unit andthen flush the entire unit of all old fluid and contaminants and install new high-tech fluidfor both conventional sector and rack and pinion. Finally, the technician will road testyour vehicle.

Operation Description:

Power steering fluid exchange service

Advantage:

Our power steering service will alleviate steering squeal caused by sticking valves, correct that jerky feeling on the steering wheel, help prevent fluid leaks, and reducewear.

Does your vehicle’s brake pedal feel “spongy”? Brake fluid becomes contaminated overtime and use. Heat and moisture can cause brake failure. Contaminated fluid leads toexpensive repairs.

Significance:Harmful deposits on

brake master cylinderpiston assembly

Brake fluid before andafter service

AI-202

One of our skilled technicians will check the condition of your vehicle’s brake fluid and,if necessary, remove contaminated fluid from the brake lines and master cylinder, replace the old fluid with appropriate brake fluid. The entire brake system will beinspected for leaks, master cylinder corrosion, worn pneumatic parts, harmful varnishbuild-up, broken or rusted bleeder valves, worn rotors and drums, and air in the brakelines.

Operation Description:

Brake fluid exchange service

Advantage:

Worn-out, oxidized brake fluid causes corrosion and harmful deposits and varnish buildup. A brake flush service should be performed when your brake fluid showscontamination or every 30,000 to 40,000 miles.
