BIRTH OF THE CORDLESS LAMP

It all started back in 1995, we were working on the lighting design for Penfold Wine’s Magill Estate restaurant in the Adelaide hills with Sydney architects Allen Jack+Cottier.

A major challenge with restaurant lighting is the need to move tables around and still illuminate them appropriately; we were tasked with designing an electric lamp with no cord to solve this problem.

As there were no off-the-shelf battery systems, we designed our own exactly to our requirements. The end result was the Magill cordless table lamp.

COLLINS / LITTLE COLLINS

The Little Collins comes with opal polymer diffuser and a brushed stainless steel top. The Collins has an additional stainless steel base for increased surface

illumination.

MAGILL

First released in 1995, this is the original NEOZ Cordless Lamp designed for

the Penfolds Magill Estate Winery. Brush body with part frosted acrylic providing direct

downlight and soft ambient side light.

WOOD

Available in native Victorian Ash or Western Australian Jarrah body with opal diffuser providing a soft ambient light. A wonderful addition to any

indoor or outdoor settings.

TALLER, BRIGHTER, TOUGHER The award winning ‘Tall Poppy’ has been designed to provide twice the brightness, a wider glare-free light coverage in a beautiful ribbed zinc alloy diecast body.

The ‘Tall Poppy’ is fitted with a 2600k warm white LED that produces 100+ lumens of downlight for over 10 hours on one charge, enough to light up a table for up to six diners.

A diecast construction has been selected for improved durability, the lamp is nicely weighted top and bottom for greater stability on the table.

In order to achieve a superior level of fit and finish, each lamp is individually hand polished before one of five electroplating or paint finishes is applied.

As a design based manufacturer, we have a long tradition of being a pioneer in the lighting field. From 1983, NEOZ designed custom floor, wall, table and task lights and in the 1990’s revolutionised the industry with our award winning Lightrail and Lightwire track systems.

The NEOZ Cordless Lamp range was first developed in 1995, and awarded its first Australian Design Award in 2001, another in 2004 and a third in 2006. A prestigious international ‘Red Dot’ Design Award followed for the V4 Cordless Table Lamp System.

In 2013, the Cooee lamp range was awarded Gold for the International Design Award under the ‘Outdoor Lighting’ category and Silver for ‘Urban Sustainable Design’.

Originally made for the Ritz hotel in London, the classical style of the Ritz Cordless Lamp embraces the period’s ambience and understated elegance.

Hot forged from a single ingot of raw brass, the Ritz together with the more compact Victoria and Albert are CNC machined and then polished to a deep lustre. The solid brass base is then teamed with a handmade shade providing direct down light and soft diffused sidelight.

18 YEARS AND COUNTING!

Overlooking the breathtaking views of Sydney harbour, Café Sydney is a regular favourite for locals and visiting tourists alike.

The first Neoz Cordless Lamp was put into use in their elegant dining space back in 2001. With over 60 lamps, they upgraded to the V4 System in 2008 to take advantage of the improved conductive charging & docking system.

The famed French architect Jean Nouvel is one of many long-time supporters of our cordless lamps, the Pritzker Prize winner has specified the ‘Ice Square 100’ for his own personal use and a number of projects including Quai Branly Museum in Paris, Hotel Sofitel Vienna Stephansdom and most recently the Renaissance Barcelona Fira Hotel.

NEOZ Cordless Lighting technology is incorporated into special illuminated furniture designed by Henrietta Gothe-Ellis and Paul Morris for commercial and home use.

Manufactured from durable linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) these illuminated furniture are IP51 rated, suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. We offer three type of light source, the standard 80 lumens 1.2W LED, optional high brightness 300 Lumens 5W LED or remote controlled colour changing 3W RGB LED.
