Califor- nia’s investor-owned water utilities have a long-standing commitment to seek business relationships that provide their customers with excellent customer ser- vice and reliable supply of high-quality water at a fair and reasonable price. The California Public Utilities Commis- sion (CPUC) has established the guide- lines under which vendors may qualify as WMDVBEs. PRWT Services, Inc. is contracted to operate the Supplier Clear- inghouse, which verifies and certifies that applicant firms qualify as WMDVBEs and provides participating utilities with a current database. If your company is already certified by a comparable agency, you must still obtain the Supplier Clearinghouse certification. You can contact the Supplier Clearinghouse at www.thesupplierclearinghouse.com or by calling (800) 359-7998. The verification process is performed quickly and at no cost to the applicant. The California Water Association (CWA) is a trade as-sociation of investor-owned water utilities providing high-quality water utility services to nearly six million people throughout California. Seven investor-owned water utilities currently participate in the Utility Supplier Diversity Program:

California American Water Company — Headquar-tered in Chula Vista, Cal Am provides water service to 500,000 people through 182,000 service connections in 30 communities.

California Water Service Company — Headquartered in San Jose, Cal Water serves nearly two million people through 437,000 service connections via 28 customer service areas.

Golden State Water Company — Headquartered in San Dimas, Golden State Water serves more than one million people through approximately 253,000 custom-er connections in 22 customer service areas.

Park Water Company — In California, PWC delivers water to 136,000 people in the Los Angeles and San Bernardi-no Counties through 45,000 service connections.

San Gabriel Valley Water Company — Based in El Monte, San Gabriel Valley Water serves a population of more than 320,000 through 92,000 service connec-tions in Los Angeles and San Bernardino Counties.

San Jose Water Company — San Jose Water, based in Silicon Valley, was founded in 1866 and delivers water to more than one million people through 217,500 service connections.

Suburban Water Systems — Based in Covina, Sub-urban provides service to 300,000 people through 75,000 service connections located in Los Angeles and Orange Counties.
