Construction begins at Roma North gas development Release Date: 12 November 2018

Civil works have begun at the Roma North natural gas development following the award of the major construction contract.

Senex Energy Ltd (Senex, ASX: SXY) has awarded the contract to build critical infrastructure for the development, including the gas processing facility, to Wasco (Australia) Pty Ltd following the Final Investment Decision last month (refer ASX announcement of 29 October 2018).

Wasco started early works today for construction of the modular gas processing facility with initial capacity of 16 TJ/day. The facility is capable of being expanded rapidly to 24 TJ/day. The contract also includes construction of a 6km transportation pipeline to infrastructure operated by GLNG and a metering station.

Commissioning of the processing facility is targeted for Q4 FY19.

Senex Managing Director and CEO Ian Davies said: “This contract and early works are further milestones in the development of our gas business in the Surat Basin, following the successful financial close of our $150 million senior debt facility, the announcement of Final Investment Decisions and entry into the infrastructure services agreement with Jemena for Project Atlas.

“Roma North, together with Project Atlas, is setting the roadmap for development of our long-life natural gas assets and creating the foundation for a step-change in production and cash flow over the near term.”
