BE PART OF ALPHA AT BETHEL IN 2013

What Is Alpha

Who is Alpha For?

As part of Bethel’s ongoing discipleship program our next class begins onMonday evenings starting April 1st at 6.30 pm at Bethel Church.

More than fifteen million people all over the world have completed the Alpha course during the last fifteen years in churches, homes, schools, universities and prisons. Alpha is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed, non- threatening setting over nine thought-provoking weekly sessions. It is low-key, friendly and fun.

Everyone is welcome on an Alpha course and people attend for a wide variety of reasons. Some want to investigate whether God exists and if there is any point to life; others are concerned about what happens after death. Still others may have attended church all their lives but felt they have never really understood the basics of the Christian faith. People come from many different backgrounds, holding many different viewpoints - but all come with the same objective - to establish whether Jesus Christ has any real relevance for their lives.

THE TEAM

YOUTH MISSIONS To ukraINeHow you can be involved…

We have 10 teenagers have signed up for an incredible missions experience. They have prayed into it, and believe that God has ordained this moment in their lives for them to travel to another country to bring the ultimate message of hope. This experience is a big step of faith for them. To be 14-18 years of age and trust God to help provide $2000 to travel to another country is not a small matter. But we have a team of youth that are committed to working hard and to allowing God to stretch their faith.

They can’t do this alone! These 10 youth are going as represen-tatives of Bethel and they need all of us to stand with them to bring about God’s purposes in Ukraine this summer. Here’s how you can help:

Pray. More than anything we want as a team to be spiritually ready for what God wants to do through us on this trip. We have already begun a discipleship and leadership process to get us prepared for Ukraine. There is a deep recognition within us that we can do nothing without the power of the Spirit working through us. So we are praying, spending time in the Word, and learning what it means to be a true follower of Jesus and a fisher of men. Please pray for our youth that God would prepare this team to be the hands and feet and heart of Jesus to the people we will meet in Ukraine. Pray for spiritual growth in our hearts, pray for unity in the team, pray for supernatural provision for every need. Pray that this would not just be 2 weeks that affect our lives, but that the next 6 months of preparation would serve as a foundation for the rest of our lives.

Support. Our youth have begun to work and save in preparation for the cost of this trip, but they’re going to need help. Over the next few months we are going to be doing various fundraisers to help cover expenses for the youth team and for projects to benefit the orphans in Ukraine. We’ll be announcing each fund-raiser as it approaches to give you the opportunity to support. In addition I would ask you to pray about the possibility of being a personal sponsor for one of our youth. Every donation, no mat-ter how small, is going to help them fulfill their goal of being a missionary this summer. To make a donation stop by the Offering Desk or speak to Pastor Trish.

Thank you so much for partnering with our teenagers to see God do an amazing work in and through them this summer in Ukraine!

Jasmine Wall I believe God is go-ing to use us to show His love to people who don’t understand love.

Brooklyn Kennedy I believe God is going to move in and through us in Ukraine.

Jeff Sit I think this missions trip will open my eyes to how God can change lives.

Graham Pedregosa I believe God wants me to use my skills to spread the word of God.

Breanne Newton I want to show kids that they have great worth.

Lauren Ellenor I think that this trip will change my life.

Sarah Ellenor I want to share God’s love with those who desperately need it.

Elizabeth Fletcher I want to expand God’s kingdom in another country.

Amy Bennett I’m excited to see how another culture loves Jesus, despite their difficult situations.

Brandan Fraser I’ve felt called for a long time to go on a missions trip, now is my time.

If you are a part of Bethel and have been to any of the prayer times or the Encoun-ter services, you know that God is at work in a fresh way in this house. I believe that we are on the cusp of a great move of the Spirit in this church. Something has definitely shifted in the atmosphere in this house since the beginning of 2013. In prayer, the Lord keeps impressing my heart to “trust Him to direct our steps and to lean strongly in prayer towards what He is doing in our church.”

PRAYER TIMESIn the month of March we are going to set 2 weekly corporate prayer times: Wednesdays from 5:30PM to 6:30PM and Saturdays at 7:00PM. I strongly urge you to make a commitment to these times of prayer. We have been hav-ing wonderful prayer times with many people coming to prayer. In addition, I am calling for 3 days of prayer and fasting on Monday March 18th, Tuesday March 19th and Wednesday March 20th. On these prayer and fasting days, we will have two prayer times each day from 12:00PM to 1:00PM and from 5:30PM to 6:30PM. These prayer times are so impor-tant as we prepare for what God will do through the drama Heaven’s Gates. We will be praying over all the Prayer Cards of names for those we are believing to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

ENCOUNTER WITHJOHN WILKINSONAs well in March, we are going to have 3 nights of Encounter services (March 3rd, 4th, & 5th). John Wilkinson, of Shake the Nations ministries from the U.K., will be with us at Bethel again and will be ministering in these services. Mark these nights on your calendar and plan to attend these services. We are believing for a mighty move of the Holy Spirit with signs following.

SUNDAY NIGHTS MARCH 10 & 17On Sunday February 3rd, I showed the video of Rabbi Jonathan Cahn speak-ing at the Presidential Inauguaral Prayer Breakfast in Washington D.C. on Monday January 21st, the day President Obama was sworn in for a 2nd term in office. Jonathan’s speech was a powerful call to the nation towards repentance and turn-ing to God. So many of you commented

to me of how much you were blessed by Jonathan’s words. Jonathan Cahn wrote a book called “The Harbinger” in 2012 and was a bestseller. In his book, Jonathan outlines from the prophecy of Isaiah in chapter 9, the warning signs God gives a nation in His call to the people to turn back to God. I have a 2 part documentary produced by Jonathan Cahn that outlines the message of his book. On Sunday March 10th and 17th, I am going to begin our Sunday night service showing this documentary (each part is approximately 60 minutes). Following the video, we are going to take another 30-45 minutes to pray together for God’s glory and pres-ence to fill our lives and for the salvation of the lost. I encourage you to join us for these special Sunday night services. These videos will stir you and open your eyes to the call of God to the United States, but also to our nation of Canada.

LIVE STREAMAs you have heard, we are moving quickly to have a video recording of our services and to also live stream our ser-vices through the internet. This is a great blessing, as we have a number of people

who live outside of Sarnia that wish to be able to follow the services at Bethel and also for those who may not be able to attend the services but can still watch on-line. I want to thank Matt Routley, Jordan Ouellette, Josh Guerette, and those who are now helping with the cameras. They have done an excellent job in getting the equipment so quickly and to begin the process of live streaming. We did have a few issues in the live streaming of the Encounter services, but we are working those out. Our initial plan is to live stream the Sunday morning services and our En-counter services. We trust in a short time, we will also be able to stream our Sunday night services as well. If you would be interested in helping in this ministry, speak to Matt Routley, Jordan Ouellette, or contact the church office and ask for the media department.

SPECIAL GUESTSCOMING TO BETHELAs God is moving in our church, He is bringing anointed ministry to us. Please mark your calendars so you can be a part of these Encounter services that our coming to Bethel. First, from May 5th to 8th, Evangelist Ted Shuttlesworth will be ministering nightly here at Bethel. Ted’s television ministry program Faith Alive can be seen each Thursday at 6:30PM on Grace TV. We are also thrilled to announce that international evangelist Nathan Morris will be at Bethel for 3 nights on October 22-24, 2013. Nathan is the lead evangelist in the Bay of the Holy Spirit Revival and his crusades around the world attract huge crowds and are marked by mighty miracles. Lydia Stanley Marrow, the worship leader for the Bay Revival, will also be at Bethel those dates and will be leading in worship. These are meetings you will not want to miss!
