RULES OF THE SHOW

SHOW TIMETABLE

Before the show Entries should be made on the official entry form and be in the hands of Congresbury Post Office, Brinsea Road or Congresbury Pharmacy, Broad Street or Halfway Garage, Bristol Road with the appropriate entry fees in a sealed envelope by no later than 4.30pm on Thursday 29th June. Late entries will be accepted at the discretion of the Show Organiser at 40p per entry. On Show Day 7.30 am until 10.30 am Marquee open for the staging of exhibits. Ex-hibitors are responsible for placing class cards on their exhibits. These are obtainable from the Show Organiser on the day. 10.30am Marquee cleared for judging – no exhibitor or public access. 1.30pm Marquee reopen for public viewing. 3.30pm until 4.30pm Prize money may be collected from the Treasurer. Any prize money not claimed by 4.30pm will be deemed to have been donated to the Society. Prizes are: 1st - £1 2nd - 75p 3rd - 50p Points are also allocated on the following basis to determine success for certain Trophies: 1st – 3 points 2nd – 2 points 3rd – 1 point 4.15pm Presentation of trophies and awards After Presentation ceremony Exhibits may be removed. Any exhibit not removed by 5.30pm shall be deemed to have been donated to the Society.

RULES OF THE SHOW

1. The Show will be conducted in accordance with the Rules, Standards and Definitions contained in the RHS Horticultural Show Handbook 2008 Edition and the 2009 NAFAS Competitions Manual except where varied by this schedule. These handbooks will be available on the Show Organiser’s table. 2. All exhibits in classes 1 - 44 must have been cultivated by the exhibitor for at least 2 months. The Committee reserves the right to visit any exhibi-tor’s garden before or after the Show. 3. Exhibitors may not enter more than two entries in any class and may not take more than one prize in any class. 4. Only one exhibitor may enter from one garden in any one class.

5. For the purposes of this Show, a ‘novice’ is an exhibitor who has never won a first prize in the relevant novice class of the Summer Show. 6. First prize winning items in any previous Congresbury Show are not eligible for re-entry in subsequent shows. 7. For the benefit of the viewing public, exhibitors are asked to label plant varieties/cultivars where possible. 8. Any exhibit that does not conform to Show Rules may be disqualified. 9. Any protest must be in writing and delivered to the Show Organiser by 3.00pm on the day of the Show. The decision of the judges shall be final in respect of the relative merits of exhibits and they have the power to with-hold any prizes if they think the exhibits are unworthy. The Show Organis-er reserves the right to refer any other points in dispute to the Committee. 10. The Committee will not accept responsibility for loss or damage to property or exhibits. Reasonable care will be taken. 11.
