CONGREGATION BETH ISRAEL Elul-Tishrei 5777 | September 2017 BULLETIN Hello, It’s an exciting time of year. The school year is fresh. Students are sporting new back to school outfits, haircuts, and backpacks. Parents are posting first day of school photos via social media. CBI campus is energized. Chanen Preschool and Haberkorn Religious School have started their new terms. Chanen Preschool children have the opportunity to take brand new enrichment classes such as circus, tennis, monster math and art. Spanish and Hebrew classes are taught at Chanen along with participating in mindfulness training initiative with classes throughout the school year. Haberkorn Religious School and Ma’ayan (9- 12 th graders) activated the school year with an inspiring new logo that defines our Jewish values. They are learning through project experiences and Jewish STEM, indicating Sustainability (Jewishness that resonates), T’Filah (text), Ethics, Making it Meaningful. Religious school currently employs 7 teachers that are former students, including my daughter, Madison Burke. This illustrates the impact our religious school program instills in our children. CBI Youth is off to an explosive start with creative, fun events for children ranging from 1 st grade through high school. Kol Isha had their kick off brunch in the museum overflowing with the women of CBI laughing, schmoozing, and discussing the innovative calendar of upcoming events. Next Dor, 20’s-30’s social group, had their enormously successful movie night/pool party with over 45 attendees and have a great year of activities planned. To keep informed of upcoming events and programs, please read your weekly snapshot emailed every Thursday. This year, 5778, provides so many opportunities to connect with fellow CBI congregants, make new friends and enjoy the company of existing friends. New beginnings translate to our Jewish life as we rewind the Torah and start anew. As the new year approaches, it is the time for reflection, introspection, and a fresh start. This year consider participating in one new program at CBI. It may be a Shabbat service, Torah study, learning shabbaton, purely social event, volunteer opportunity, or social action project. Whatever you chose, it will be rewarding and create a stronger connection to your Kehilah Kedosha. I look forward to worshipping with all of you during the High Holidays. From my family to yours-Lance, Randy, Maddie and I wish you a very sweet, happy, and healthy 5778. Elul-Tishrei 5777 | September 2017 BULLETIN

Hello,

It’s an exciting time of year. The school year is fresh.

Students are sporting new back to school outfits,

haircuts, and backpacks. Parents are posting first day

of school photos via social media. CBI campus is

energized. Chanen Preschool and Haberkorn

Religious School have started their new terms.

Chanen Preschool children have the opportunity to

take brand new enrichment classes such as circus,

tennis, monster math and art. Spanish and Hebrew classes are taught at

Chanen along with participating in mindfulness training initiative with classes

throughout the school year. Haberkorn Religious School and Ma’ayan (9-

12th

graders) activated the school year with an inspiring new logo that

defines our Jewish values. They are learning through project experiences

and Jewish STEM, indicating Sustainability (Jewishness that resonates), T’Filah

(text), Ethics, Making it Meaningful. Religious school currently employs 7

teachers that are former students, including my daughter, Madison Burke.

This illustrates the impact our religious school program instills in our

children.

CBI Youth is off to an explosive start with creative, fun events for children

ranging from 1st grade through high school. Kol Isha had their kick off

brunch in the museum overflowing with the women of CBI laughing,

schmoozing, and discussing the innovative calendar of upcoming events.

Next Dor, 20’s-30’s social group, had their enormously successful movie

night/pool party with over 45 attendees and have a great year of activities

planned. To keep informed of upcoming events and programs, please read

your weekly snapshot emailed every Thursday.

This year, 5778, provides so many opportunities to connect with fellow CBI

congregants, make new friends and enjoy the company of existing friends.

New beginnings translate to our Jewish life as we rewind the Torah and start

anew. As the new year approaches, it is the time for reflection, introspection,

and a fresh start. This year consider participating in one new program at CBI.

It may be a Shabbat service, Torah study, learning shabbaton, purely social

event, volunteer opportunity, or social action project. Whatever you chose, it

will be rewarding and create a stronger connection to your Kehilah Kedosha.

I look forward to worshipping with all of you during the High Holidays. From

my family to yours-Lance, Randy, Maddie and I wish you a very sweet, happy,

and healthy 5778.
