Need Prayer? Prayer needs are addressed in two ways at St. Louis. In the vestibule of church is
a Prayer Request Notebook where anyone, at any time, can write prayer concerns.
The Members of the Prayer and Praise Ministry commit to praying daily for these
intentions. For more urgent prayer needs (illness, surgery, etc.) there is a Prayer
Chain that will get dozens of people praying immediately. To begin the Prayer
Chain, please call one of the following: Janice Werner 932-9200; Erma Hartman, 934-3678; or Viola Fullenkamp, 934-3316
Ministry of Prayer and Praise Intentions for May For Pope Francis, that he may be given a spirit of courage and right judgment,
of knowledge and love so that he may build the Church into a sacrament of
unity, love, and peace for all the world.
For blessings on all mothers, that they may see Mary as their model and
sanctify Christ as Lord in their hearts and homes.
For our seminarians, that they may be guided by the Holy Spirit in their
preparation for the priesthood.
That God will bless all those who risk their lives to protect our freedom and
reward all those who served in the armed forces.
For those who have grown lukewarm in their faith, that the Holy Spirit will drive
out their indifference and rekindle their desire of heaven.

Steubenville Youth Conference - June 16-18 This three-day conference addresses the
needs of today’s Catholic youth, with an ex-
citing lineup of speakers, musicians, and
presenters. This high school youth confer-
ence will challenge Catholic youth to stand
firm in their faith. One of the highlights of
the weekend is Eucharistic Exposition and
Adoration. Many teens have come to a
deeper relationship with Jesus Christ
through the power of the Holy Spirit during
these weekends. If you are beginning your
walk with Christ, needing strength to continue the journey, or just
ready to rejoice in the many blessings He has given, then this is
the conference for you! Please contact Carrie at
[email protected] or Angie at [email protected] if
you missed the registration, but would like to find out more.
This year, St. Louis Parish High School youth will be joining several
other parishes in the Batesville Deanery for the Steubenville Youth
Conference. About 140 participants will be taking 3 buses to the con-
ference June 16-18, 2017. Help is greatly appreciated from all pa-
rishioners to help make a difference in the life of our youth. Here’s
how you can help:
Please pray for our youth. Pray for them to come to know our
Lord and for a closer personal relationship with Him. Pray for a
safe trip to the Steubenville Conference and for their safe return.
Consider making a donation. If you would like to help send a
high school youth from our parish to Steubenville, donations are
accepted at the parish office. Please make checks out to “St.
Louis Parish”, with the memo: “Steubenville Youth Conference”. It
costs each participant $275 for the conference, food, transporta-
tion, and t-shirt, which can be a hardship for some families.
Attend Mass with us. We will be celebrating Mass before head-
ing off to the Steubenville Conference. Mass will be at 7:00am on
Friday, June 16th.
Donate a sack lunch or travel friendly, nut free, snack. Some-
times participants will be so excited about the trip and forget to
pack their lunch or snacks for the bus ride. We have a few youth
who have severe nut allergies, so we have asked all participants
to pack nut free foods for the trip. If you would like to donate a
sack lunch or snack, please bring it to St. Louis School between
6:30-7:00am on June 16th, or call Carrie at the parish office to
make arrangements.
St. Louis Catholic Church will be commemorating the 100th
year anniversary of the Apparitions of Fatima with the following services:
Saturday, May 13 - 9:30am Rosary; 10:00am Mass Tuesday, June 13 - 5:30pm Rosary; 6:00pm Mass
Thursday, July 13 - 7:00pm Prayer Service Sunday, August 13 - 7:00pm Prayer Service
Wednesday, September 13 - 7:00pm Prayer Service Friday, October 13 - 7:00pm Prayer Service
In order to worthily celebrate the hundredth anniversary of the Apparitions of Fatima, by the mandate of Pope Francis, it
is granted a Jubilee Year, with the inherent plenary indulgence, from the 27th November 2016 to the 26th November
2017. The plenary indulgence of the jubilee is granted:
a) to the faithful who visit the Shrine of Fatima in pilgrimage and devotedly participate in a celebration or prayer in hon-
our of the Virgin Mary, pray the Our Father, recite the symbol of faith (Creed) and invoke Our Lady of Fatima;
b) to the pious faithful who visit with devotion an image of Our Lady of Fatima solemnly displayed for public veneration in
any temple, oratory or adequate place, during the days of the anniversary of the apparitions (the 13th of each month,
from May to October 2017), and devotedly participate there in any celebration or prayer in honour of the Virgin Mary,
pray the Our Father, recite the symbol of faith (Creed) and invoke Our Lady of Fatima;
c) to the faithful who, due to their age, disease or other serious reason, are impeded of moving, if, repentant of all their
sins and having the firm intention of performing, as soon as possible, the three conditions mentioned bellow, in front of
a small image of Our Lady of Fatima, spiritually unite in the days of the apparitions to the jubilee celebrations, offering
with trust to God all-merciful through Mary their prayers and pains, or the sacrifices of their own lives.
To obtain the plenary indulgence, the faithful, truly penitent and animated with charity, must ritually fulfill the following
conditions: sacramental confession, Eucharistic communion and prayer for the intentions of the Holy Father.
Words of Our Lady of Fatima:
"Pray the Rosary everyday to obtain peace for the world and the end of the war." May 13, 1917
"Pray, pray very much, and make sacrifices for sinners; for many souls go to hell
because there are none to sacrifice themselves and to pray for them." August 19, 1917
