Mrs. Wilson was nominated by a colleague, Jeanne Barbour. In her nomination Mrs. Barbour stated, “Mrs. Wilson has been a teacher for nearly 20 years. Most of that time she has been here at Wayne Avenue. She is grade chair, and has led numerous committees throughout the years. She loves teaching and cares deeply about all her students. She is a wonderful role model for students as well as fellow teachers. She is patient, kind and thoughtful. Her dedication to teaching is evident to all who know her. I have had the fortune of working with her for 5 years; prior to working with her, I was privileged to have her as my own daughters teacher. The thing I admire most about Mrs. Wilson is her respect for the students. She inspires students to take responsibility and motivates them to be successful. In turn, they have a tremendous amount of respect for her as well. She has touched the lives of hundreds of students throughout the years, and in doing so, has made the world a better place!” Congratulations Carolina Wilson 5th Grade Teacher Wayne Avenue Elementary Pictured, left to right: Education Committee Members Meredith Bradham and Carnell Robinson; Principal Steve Matthews; Mrs. Wilson; VP of Education Lena West; and Education Committee Member Clint Stanley.
