Well Prepared Project (WPP) CICA is actively participating in the works of the Sustainable Infrastructure Foundation (SIF) regarding the development of the International Infrastructure Support System (IISS). This interactive platform is now running and will be presented on the 6th of October 2016 to the World Bank and other Multilateral Development Banks in Washington DC. The concept of Well Prepared Project, initially introduced by CICA, will also be emphasized. Michel Démarre (SEFI) is following up the implication of the World Road Association (PIARC) for the review of the platform templates. CICA is simultaneously starting a consultation of its members to collect the feedback from the Contractors.

Multilateral Development Banks African Development Bank (AfDB)CICA is following up with AfDB’s representatives and waiting for the publication of the Bank’s full Procurement Toolkit. CICA is also following up the works on local staff ’s professional training and actions to be taken to strengthen the local private sector.

World Bank GroupAn important CICA delegation met with World Bank Group’s officers last May to discuss various topics of interest for Contractors including: implementation of World Bank’s new Procurement policy (meeting with OPCS and Executive Directors), PPP (meeting with PPIAF and IFC), Sustainable development and building capacities in the Low and Middle Income Developing Countries (Operations) and Guarantees (MIGA). CICA is also following up the works of UNCITRAL on PPPs.

Long Term Financing of Infrastructure CICA Director General is identifying contacts among International Regulators to discuss the impact of prudential norms (Basel IV) on the financing of infrastructure. CICA is regularly meeting with the European Institute of Financial Regulation.

CICA will take part in the German B20 Taskforces on: «Financing Growth and Infrastructure» and «SMEs» and encourages CICA members to register to participate in the different working groups. Read more…

CICA Organization

CICA met with representative of FIIC, Jorge Mas (Chile), in Paris on September 5th, 2016.

CICA met with President of FIEC, Jean-Louis Marchand, in Paris on September 13th, 2016.

A new CICA President and CICA Vice Presidents shall be elected in Paris on November 21st, 2016.

Meetings of the working groups should be encouraged. The use of video conference could facilitate the meetings when necessary.

Chairmen of the different working groups shall be confirmed or designated.

Changes in CICA’s statutes shall be discussed in Paris on November 21st, 2016.

CICA President Emre Aykar
