“People always fear change. People feared electricity when it was invented, didn’t they? People feared coal, they feared gas-powered engines. There will always be ignorance, and ignorance leads to fear. But with time, people will come to accept their silicon masters.” My career is a computer programmer. I got interested in this career field when I was in elementary school. I used to have a job where I would go around working on computers in the school and I would get free candy in return. I will be researching salary, the job outlook, and the type of degree I need.

Job Outlook and Employment

My lifestyle goals are to live in a 4 bedroom house by a lake. A Corvette ZR1 parked in my garage and have a trampoline.

The average earnings for a computer programmer is about $71,380 a year. Making about $34.32 an hour.

To fit my lifestyle I think this will be a decent job. If I save less than half of my paychecks then I think I will be able to buy a house near the water. Saving will help me

stay out of debt so I can achieve my goals faster. My first purchase with my money will probably be a trampoline because trampolines

can relieve a lot of stress from school!

One backup job I have in mind is a computer engineer.

Some responsibilities are that I must work with micro chips, loads of data, be creative and develop new pieces of equipment.

To achieve this job I need to obtain an Bachelors degree in computer engineering.

I chose this job as a secondary because I enjoy doing things with computers. When I was little I always wanted to build computers and things of that nature so being a

computer engineer is one of my dream jobs. This career is expected to increase only about 9% in the next 10 years. But engineers

are expected to increase 14%

I could go on and on about how much I would like to be in a career field that involves using computers. I like to use computers. I like to make things with computers. Being a part of developing technology is a great thing to me. With my job as a software engineer I can achieve my lifestyle goals in no time. It will provide a secure job because technology is rapidly changing and you are going to need plenty of people to keep up on the change.
