INTRODUCTIONThese days our world is facing fuel crisis and air pollution. The primary fuel we are using is gasoline which is expensive and non-renewable.So an alternative for gasoline has to be adopted. Compressed air serves this purpose.

AIR POWERED CAR Air powered cars are powered by air engine which uses compressed air as fuel.

Compressed Air TankAir FilterBodyChassisEngineElectrical System VEHICLE PARTS

Located underneath the vehicle

Made of carbon fibers. Hence safe to risk of explosion

Holds 90 cubic meters of air, compressed to 300 bars.

COMPRESSED AIR TANK

AIR FILTERBefore compression, air must be filtered to get rid of any impurities.

The Exhaust pipe on the Air Powered Cars produces clean air which is cold on exit and harmless to human life.

BODY OF THE CARIts body is made up of FIBER GLASS and INJECTED FOAM. It is slightly costly , but it does not cut like steel. It does not rust. It is light weighted.

CHASSISHighly resistant, Light, Aluminium Rods glued together.Aluminium rods Enables to build More Shock- Resistant Chassis than Regular Chassis. The rods are Glued the Same way as Aircraft.Allows quick assembly.

COMRESSED AIR ENGINE (CAE)

A Compressed-air engine is a pneumatic motor that creates useful work by expanding compressed air. A compressed-air vehicle is powered by an air engine, using compressed air, which is stored in a tank. Instead of mixing fuel with air and burning it in the engine to drive pistons with hot expanding gases, compressed air vehicles (CAV) use the expansion of compressed air to drive their pistons.

SPECIFICATIONS

Single Energy Mode: It uses only compressed air. The maximum speed is 110 km/h.

Dual Energy Mode: It uses compress air as well as gasoline. The engine can switch from compressed air mode to fuel mode.

CHARGING METHODOLOGYThe recharging of the car will be done at gas stations, and takes about to 2 to 3 minutes at a price of 135 rupees. After refilling, the car will be ready to drive 200 kilometres.

ADVANTAGES Easy to refuel at service stations Cost of production is less Pollution free Maintenance is easy

DISADVANTAGES

It has relatively less speed Refueling at house takes 3-4 hours

CONCLUSION On the whole, Air powered cars is a realization of latest technology in automobile field. The air car is a clean, easy to drive, light weight and high performance car.

The Air Powered Engine technology is cheaper in cost and maintenance, can be easily adapted by the masses and it doesnt cause any kind of harm to the environment. Instead, its widespread use will help mankind in controlling the serious problem of global warming.
