Comprehensive Competency Assessment (CCA) Exams
Bachelor students are required to take and pass one Comprehensive Competency
Assessment (CCA) Exam after successfully completing the Required, Core, and Elective
Courses.
The Registrar will inform the Bachelor candidate during the third week of his/her final course that they
will be registered for the CCA Exam in the following term upon successful completion of the current
term course. For more details regarding the CCA Exams please see Course Syllabus.
Master and Doctorate students are required to take and pass two Comprehensive
Competency Assessment (CCA) Exams. The first CCA Exam (CCA1) will cover materials in
the Required Courses. The second CCA Exam (CCA2) will cover materials in the Emphasis or
Elective Courses. Students must successfully pass all Required Courses prior to taking the
CCA1 and all Emphasis or Elective Courses prior to taking the CCA2.
NOTE:
To prepare for this course:
1. The Study Guide was designed by industry experts and educators from the materials
in the textbook and summarizes the course content. The Study Guide chapters
correspond to those chapters in the textbook which are required for the course. This
is the reason we recommend you download your Study Guides for review for your
CCA Exams. There are no other study materials provided for the CCA Exam.
a. CCA1 Exam - It is recommended that you review the Study Guides for the
Required Courses.
b. CCA2 Exam - It is recommended that you review the Study Guides for your
Emphasis Courses.
Please note that Master and Doctorate students may not be able to continue to the
Dissertation phase until they have successfully passed the Exams. No degree will be awarded
without successful completion of the required CCA Exams.
The CCA Exam is online, mandatory for graduation, not counted towards your GPA, and is a
Pass/Fail exam. It consists of two parts:
 Multiple‐choice/True or False questions
o 5 attempts will be allowed during a term. The highest scoring attempt will be
accepted as your final grade.
o Proctored exam – Each attempt of this exam must be proctored. See
