PURPOSE

The purpose of this job aid is to assist employees in adding or updating their Workday Professional Profile and to provide managers with the ability to assess their direct reports career potential using a Workday Employee Talent Review Professional Profile Task.

An updated Professional Profile assists managers with workday talent management and assessment tasks by allowing managers to filter up to date performance criteria which may be used to develop talent pools for organizational succession planning, when applicable.

Additionally, an Employee Talent Review Professional Profile Task allows managers to assess an employee’s career potential for performance talent management processes.

Complete an Employee Talent Review Professional Profile Task Once an Employee Talent Review Professional Profile Task is launched by the Human Resources & Equity Department (Talent Partner), an employee will receive a task in his or her inbox to Update My Talent Profile.

Step 1 Select one:

− Go to Guided Editor – wizard that takes you step by step through each

section of the review. View instructional text at the top of each page and use the navigation bar to move between sections.

− Go to Summary Editor – has all sections on the same page for you to enter everything on one page at one time. Hover over section headings to view instructional text and click into each section to edit its details.

This profile will only show Job Profiles after the implementation of Workday from 2013 to present. It does not show prior job profiles formally captured by the College Integrated Database (CID). Description

Potential Employee’s ability to take on more responsibility, or to move into a position marked for succession

Retention Risk of the employee leaving the company Achievable Level

Employee’s ability to advance in relation to their current position

Loss Impact The impact to the organization if this employee were to leave

Potential Assessment Attribute Choices:

High Potential – An employee who has demonstrated having the potential, ability, and aspiration for successive leadership positions within the College. Employee is ready now.

Promotable – An employee who has the knowledge, skills and abilities to be advanced to the next higher position of responsibility. Employee is ready now.

Emerging Talent – An employee who has the desire, aspiration and motivation to seek further knowledge, skills and abilities for future growth. Employee needs further growth opportunities.

Correctly Placed – An employee who is correctly placed within the organization who may not exhibit future growth potential but works to standards. Employee is consistent in their current assignment.

Placement Issue – An employee who may or may not meet or maintain minimum performance standards. Employee is not ready. Achievable Level Assessment Attribute Choices:

Up 1 – 2 Levels – Employee has shown the ability to move up 1 -2 organizational levels within the College.

Up 2 – 3 Levels – Employee has shown the ability to move up 2 -3 organizational levels within the College.

Up 3+ Levels – Employee has shown the ability to move up 3 or more organizational levels within the College.

2 – Medium Risk - An employee who demonstrates the desire not to stay with the organization if a comparable opportunity may arise. Not likely to leave in the next two (2) years.

3 – Low Risk – An employee who would prefer to remain in the Organization even if a comparable opportunity arises. Not likely to Leave in the next five (5) years. Loss Impact Assessment Attribute Choices:

Critical – The loss of the employee would be serious and may impact the overall strategic and operational functions of the College.

Significant – The loss of the employee would be substantial but may not impact the overall strategic and operational functions of the College.

Moderate – The loss of the employee would be modest and may not impact the overall strategic and operational functions of the College.

Minor – The loss of the employee would not impact the overall strategic and operational functions of the College.

Step 17 Manager’s should review all sections of the Employee Talent Review Professional Profile Task for accuracy.

Upon review of the Employee Talent Review Professional Profile Task managers may add or update any section by clicking the pencil.

Once the manager has reviewed all sections of the Employee Talent Review Professional Profile Task for accuracy, the manager may click “Approve” to complete the task, “Send back” to the employee for further review or “Deny” the action.
