Theme of Wiedemann Sewer cleaning Vehicles with water recycling system:

The concept & aim of WIEDEMANN water recycling machines is to save the natural water resources& save time to keep our sewer lines clean.

This machine utilizes the existing sewer or any contaminated water, recycle/filter it and use the samefor cleaning, flushing or blockage removal purposes.

Thecontaminated wateris suckedthrough thesuction tubeand transported to thesludge tank. Thecontaminated water level is automatically adjusted in each tank and the first process for cleaning thiswater begins.

From tanks the water passes througha centrifugalpump to the other section of machine and afterthefirstcleaningagainpumped intothe reservoir.From thereservoirthe water of thehigh pressurepumpissupplied, andpasses through thehigh pressurehosefor cleaningandfor other purposesinthe channel.

The system is based on the principle of physical Water Cleaning. It consists of 7 treatment phase andthe subsequent three main components:

Description of the 7 stages of cleaning:

First Level: Coarse Separation stageseparates coarse material (stones, cans, etc.) and keeps them in the sludge compartment (rear) back

Second Level: SEDIMENTATIONafter passing through the Coarse Separation stage and the contaminated water enter into a settlingzone. Here, sludge, solids and sand particles separated by physical gravity separation and sink to thebottom (front area of the sludge tank)

Third Level: SELF-CLEANING WATER FLOW WITH CLOSING BELL-sandseparation stage and serves as a further introduction to the water in the main chamber of thewater tank and from there to further purification steps.The self-cleaning of the water flow is always opposite to the direction of flow. The cleaning water iscontinuously provided by the centrifugal pump water from the recycling loop.Water tankconsisting of two enclosed chambers, the main chamber and the pumping chamber:

water pump and water for the operation of the water ring pump. Excess water is returned tofull fill the pump chamber into the main chamber.

Closing bell of the water flowopens automatically when the water recycling closes the self-cleaningwater flow and thus the entire water recycling system is complets. Similar to the implementation ofpure suction work.

4th - 7 Level: Fine Sand Separation

Rotary pumptransports the pre-cleaned water from the main chamber into the Sand Separation tank.At the same time cleaning the water for the self-cleaning water flow is fed into the scavenging.

5th Stage - Cyclone separator (centrifugal)separates under pressure (centrifugal pump) by centrifugal force to physically fine and very fine gritfrom the water. The separated particles are discharged and returned automatically to the sludge tank.The purified water is four times after one pass through the cyclone separator main chamber andpump chamber finally provided the high pressure pump.

6th Stage - Control Panel:

The total water recycling plant operates continuously, without interruption during the suction andflushing. All processes are on the PLC CAN - BUS - Computer controlled fully automaticallycontrolled and monitored. A manual control capability of the system is also available.

7th Stage - Cleaning:

All are in the course of the recycling process of water separated particles transported back

automatically into the sludge tank. The water cycle is fully automatic continuous self-cleaning.Cleaning processes of the recycling facility are not required.

MIDDLE-EAST PROJECTS:

Design, Construction & Maintenance of an enterprise wide fiber optic data network inside livesewer lines at Abu Dhabi Island

Project No(G-5719)

Client: Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority ADWEA

Project Concept: The concept of this project depend using sewerage network as duct toconnect ADWEA premises and stations together in one network.

Project Length : 485 Km of exisiting sewer lines from dia 150mm to 2000mm

Our Scope of Work:CCTV Pipeline Inspection for Cable route in the sewerageNetwork.Pipeline Cleaning by using full automatic water recycling system from dia 150mm to2000mm.

Our sister Company IGCS carried out the installation of Fiber Optic cable inside the live sewernetwork and we as wiedemann environment services were maintaining the whole sewer networkfor healthy installation of the fiber cable.

The Project was challenging as the Abu Dhbai Sewer network in year 2009 to 2011 wassurcharged as most of the lines were under rehabilitation works. We did through physical surveysfor the lines and prepared an effective schedule by switchng related pump stations to empty thelines to be in use for our scope.

After the installation of Fiber cable we maintain the lines and minimise the exisiting 100 blockagesper month to almost zero per month. Our cleaning methodology is effective for all sizes of sewerlines from 100mm to 2200mm. We also maintain and clean the pump station wel wells (inlet &outlet manoles), we have installed sewer equipmenets too (flowmeters, sensors so on.) for Abudhabi sewerage services.

During the above all process we were inspecting the lines by CCTV camera inspection to checkthe FOC installation and the sewer lines status. We have reported Abu Dhabi Sewerage servicesa major numbers of defects in existing sewer lines. Our CCTV inspection is high defnition andprovide a clear scan of all types of sewer pipes.

KUWAIT :

Cleaning Flushing & CCTV inspection Works for Interceptor line of Mishrif PumpingStationfrom MH#02 to MH04 at KUWAIT

This project is one of our most challenging projects, where the cleint has requeted us to help inremoving hundreds tons of soft sand that was dumped into the mega sewer line to stop the flow dueto a major shutdown in the downstream pumping station. We had to send our crews 32 m deep inside90cm manholes to clear the problem. Our super3000 machine was used to jet and clean the 2200mmpipes with up to 250m manholes apart. Mobilization of our huge equipment in very short time andworking against extremely risky environment was a major chalenge.

BRIEF CLEANING METHODOLOGY :

SKETCH

1.1. Cleaning/flushing or sewer blockage removal should be done in equal intervals of 5 to 10Mtrsdistance or as illustrated below:

1.1.1. Drive the Jetting hose into the pipe upto 5 to 10Mtrs (depend on level of blockage) andwrench jetting hose back very slowly.

1.1.2. Jetting hose should not be wrenched backwards speedily as the water push createdby nozzle which carries the sludge/debris with it will be reduced which in turn reducescleaning efficiency by 50%.

1.1.3. Keep adding 5 to 10 Mtr distance more to previous distance cleaned after every driveand repeat the same procedure up to desired length or manhole to manhole distance.

1.1.4. The cleaning/flushing or blockage removal of any sewer line should be through onlybetween two manholes.

1.1.5. To collect non-suckable debris, a screen of same dia as of sewer pipe to be cleanedshould be placed at the downstream outlet of manhole in operation as shown illustratedin sketch-

1.1.6. While pulling the Hose back the heap of the slush gathered at screen in beneath ofthe manhole in operation should be removed or sucked out by means of Suction unitRefer picture below.

SKETCH

1.2. Avoid pushing the slush to next manhole through swear line as it is the key reason for poorcleaning which can lead to major blockages, damage the pumping mains or even cancollapse the sewer line.

1.3. Utmost safety precautions should be followed while inflating the stoppers. Proper ventilationshould be provided to avoid concentration of hazardous gases developed while disturbingsewer water during cleaning process.

1.4. If the sewer line contains hard solid debris, tree roots so on, rotating type nozzles should beused with standard jet pressure to avoid any line damage.

1.5. If the sewer lines are surcharged above 40% of line dia with sewer flow or have high remainsmore than 40% e.g remains of sand, mud, concrete reside etc. the following proceduresshould be followed:

1.5.1. Over pumping and by pass method should be adopted if the above mentionedsituation (2.10) is observed.

1.5.2. The simple method of bypassing as shown in sketch- below is followed as :

1.5.3. Inflate the stopper inside the upstream manhole outlet to avoid waste water to flowthrough pipe to be cleaned and as mentioned in item 2.8.

1.5.4. Submerge the suction inlet hose of suction pump into the upstream manhole.

1.5.5. Extend the outlet hose as per desired pipe length to be cleaned and drain off thesewer water in the downstream manhole by skipping no. of manholes to be cleaned(maximum 2 in no.)

1.5.6. The same arrangement can be followed from upstream to downstream basis.

1.5.7. Do not use submergible pumps as it collects and blocks the manhole benching,disturbs the cleaning process & increase threats.

1.5.8. Start cleaning at MH#2 upstream and downstream, collect & suck all theremaining/debris at manhole benching at same interval and repeat the process at MH#3.

1.5.9. If the depth of manhole is more than 15 mtrs additional or isolated suction units shouldbe used at the process of cleaning.

1.5.10. The cleaning should be done is same pattern as explained in item 2.6
