5. Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) solutions

CUI is the external corrosion of piping and vessels fabricated from carbon steel, low alloy and

austenitic stainless steel that occurs at the substrate under externally clad or jacketed Insulation due

to penetration by water.

CUI is a major problem for petroleum and chemical process industries. CUI can result in sudden and

hazardous leaks (safety concern), and plant shutdowns with high losses of production-volumes

(economical concern).

5.1 Risk Based Inspection (RBI) / OSI

Risk Based Inspection (RBI) is an Optimal maintenance business process used to examine

equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers and piping in industrial plants. RBI is

a decision-making methodology for optimizing inspection plans. The RBI concept lies in that

the risk of failure can be assessed in relation to a level that is acceptable, and inspection and

repair used to ensure that the level of risk is below that acceptance limit.

The On-stream Inspection System is a Combination Inspection System capable of collecting

Metal Loss, Inertial, Geometry and High Resolution IMU data in a single survey. All with

improved data quality, reduced tool surging, and lower inspection costs.

The DJI M210 with the ZENMUSE Z30 Camera set up is vastly used when doing Inspection bydrone as it is the state of the art technology when performing such a task.

7. Inspection of Boiler Water Wall tubes using Vertiscan™ System

The Vertiscan System is used to rapidly scan the water walls of a boiler during an outage sothat repair decisions can be made proactively.

Up to five tubes are scanned at once, at speeds up to 5m (15')/min The robotic(TubeCATTM) crawler can climb 100' up/down the water wall and handle up to1/4" of scale between the tubes.

9. Quantitative Short Range (QSR) Inspection:

The QSR1® is GUL’s quantitative short range (QSR) device, incorporating the latestguided wave technology and hardware.

The system is designed to semi-automatically scan predefined sections of straightpipelines for corrosion under pipe supports (CUPS).

The QSR1® can provide a quantitative measure of the average wall, as well as theminimum remaining wall thickness.

This instrument is suitable for motorized guided wave scanning on predefined sectionsof straight pipelines, with the added compatibility to operate with GUL’s cloud-basedplatform.

12. UT WALL CRAWLER FOR THICKNESS

MEASUREMENT

The system is suitable for scanning walls of large storage tanks, usingUltrasonic inspection to map the thickness profile of the tank wall fromthe outside using for that a control box to remotely control the crawler.The system can therefore meet the requirements of API 653. The CETAL, has the ability to move over riveted plates that can be encountered invarious sites around the world.
