REPORT OF ACME ANALYTICA- 2018- A WORKSHOP ON SPSS

“ACME ANALYTICA-2018”, a workshop on Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) was organised by the Department of Community Medicine, Academy of Medical Sciences, Pariyaram on 11th and 12th May, 2018. Dr.K. Sudhakaran, Principal, ACME was the patron, Dr. A.K.Jayasree, Head of the Department, Community Medicine was the Chairperson, Dr.Usha Karunakaran (TCMC Reg No: 17632), Professor, Dept of Community Medicine was the Organising Secretary and Dr. Ganesh.B.Mallar, Senior Resident, Dept of Community medicine was the Convenor of the workshop.

The first day activities started with registration and a formal inaugural function. There were 4 sessions on the first day which were handled by two resource persons, Dr.Binoo Divakaran, Assistant Professor, Biostatistics, Dept of Community Medicine, ACME, Priyaram and Dr.Devraj R (TCMC Reg No:40429), Assistant Professor, Community Medicine, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences. The four sessions on the second day were handled by Dr. Anish.T.S (TCMC Reg No:32986),Assistant Professor, Community medicine, Government Medical College, Trivandrum and Dr.Biju George (TCMC Reg No:27250),Associate Professor, Government Medical College, Calicut. There was a total of 12 hours of various sessions.

There were 55 participants for the workshop- 42 medical doctors, 4 nursing professional, 4 sociologists, 2 microbiology lecturers, 1 pharmacy professional, 1 entomologist and 1 paramedical professional. The workshop provided hands on training on SPSS along with understanding of statistical concepts.

The workshop was in accordance with the timetable mentioned in the brochure.
