Sinclair Christian Academy’s third grade students prepare for the first day of school. Third-grader Rylan Herring said he is ready, but a little nervous.

Mrs. A. Dunn’s class at Blandy Hills Elementary has been learningall about sequencing. They used story cards to put the events oftheir weekly story, ‘The Lost and Found’ in order. They have beenworking hard on summarizing and using different strategies tohelp them summarize. Sequencing is one strategy that they havebeen focusing on. The whole class enjoyed the sequencing activity.

Oak Hill staff treated tobreakfast by Northridge

Eagle Ridge studentsmake Friendship Salad

BHS chorus has big plans for new school year

There are no rotten bananas in Mrs. McCroskey and Mrs. Johnson’skindergarten class at Eagle Ridge! As a closing to a unit on rules, stu-dents were given a chance to make a ‘Friendship Salad.’ All the stu-dents decided that they did not want a rotten banana (rule breaker)in their classroom. A special thanks to all of the parents who wereable to donated the items needed.

Open house held at Blandy

Chorus is busy and active atBaldwin High School. The groupjust started school a week ago andalready they have had RichardFrazier, fabulous choreographerfrom Columbus College, teach thechoreography for “Ain’t NoMountain High Enough” and “YouRaise Me Up.”

forward to their October concertand their madrigal dinner sched-ules for November. Before schoolthey have been practicing trio,quartet and all-state chorus skillsand after school they have beenworking on “Little Shop ofHorrors,” which is their fall musi-cal. There is never a dull moment inthe choral program at BHS.

GMC Prep rifle team attends camp

In preparation for the upcoming season, members of the GMC Prep rifle team attended a JROTC Marksmanship camp at the CivilianMarksmanship Training Center in Anniston, Ala. from July 26-30. Maj. Tom Hall, rifle team coach, said, ‘This is one of only two such centers inthe United States and the training was invaluable. GMC Class of 2010 presents check for $5,000 for Usery Hall The Georgia Military College Prep School senior class recently presented at check for $5,000 to MG Peter J. Boylan, President of GMC, for the purchaseof a classroom in the new preparatory school, Usery Hall. The class of 2010 raised the money through several fundraisers some of which include sell-ing poinsettias, cake and cookie raffles, dress down days, and concession sales at sporting events. Sinclair Christian Academy competed in their first Lady Eagles’ softballgame at home Thursday, August 19, 2010. The campus was a buzz withexcitement and eager to cheer on their HOME TEAM! The fans are soexcited that they are bantering over who gets to be the Eagles’ mascot atupcoming games. The team has worked hard this summer under thecoaching of Shane Thomas and Christine Parker. They have come a longway fast and are expected to do more than hold their own in the upcom-ing games. “We couldn’t have been more proud to watch our Lady Eagleson the field. It was so exciting to get to scream out our own team name— Go Eagles!”, says Heather Schulze (SCA Administrator). Looking on youcould see the love and unity of the home crowd, all thrilled to see whatGod is doing in building new programs at the quickly growing preschool-through-twelfth-grade program! Look for great things to come!
