No One Dies Alone (NODA) & Visiting Volunteer Programs at St Peter’s Health

No One Dies Alone (NODA)

NODA is a volunteer program to assist patients and their families during and end-of-life situation.

NODA relies on the hearts of volunteers who bring life to the program. The volunteers sit with the patient in a quiet and reflective way, supporting those experiencing the intensity of life as they face death. NODA creates moments of grace in a world of uncertainty.

St. Peter’s No One Dies Alone program provides a reassuring presence to dying patients who would otherwise be alone and offers patients the most valuable of human gifts: a dignified death.

Visiting Volunteers

St. Peter’s Visiting Volunteer Program is an expansion of the NODA program. The Visiting Volunteer Program recognizes that any patient or guest may benefit from the company of a compassionate volunteer. Visiting volunteers want to ensure that none of St. Peter’s patient guests feel alone during their stay.

Our dedicated Visiting Volunteers are available to sit with our patient guests nearly any time during the day or evening. They hope to ease the strain on families who are unable to take time off during the work day, are unable to travel to the hospital, or any other reason that a patient guest may be left alone during their hospital stay.

HOW TO REFER

To activate a NODA or Visiting Volunteer service, a healthcare worker or family member may contact the NODA coordinator at 406-438-2723

We have volunteers who are eager to help with our patients so please don’t hesitate to call and make a referral.
