Feed Back from Kaipara College– Re Assessment Test Results Congratulations to our 2018 graduate students! – awesome results (see table below). BOT chairman note—well done Chelsea Brown, this is a testament to how well our senior students transition to college.

Whanau Hui – Wednesday 18th 7pm – Guest Speaker Next week Dave Cooper will be discussing Muscle/joint development, Impact of competitive sport, the notion of gradual development to improve resilience with muscles and joints. Dave is at the fore front of discussions/developments across all sports – as well as being the physio at the other end when it all goes wrong. This will be a fascinating discussion and question/answer time. This is very current as we see more sporting codes pausing competitive comps till 14 years of age. Take a look at this link , a recent piece on TVNZ Sunday show.

Young Farmer Competition finalists Julie Croft ran the selection competition for Young Farmer last week and has selected the finalists, who will compete at AG Day. We have listed the finalists below;

Noah Medwin James Hill Darcy Jackson Nathaniel Boulton Hunter Taylor Gabriella Barton

Lamb Training To be honest I don’t have a clue!!! But I am assuming if

you have a lamb, then you should be walking it up and down ramps etc – getting it competition ready. Kerry tells me all the info on training is in the Information pack. Hopefully you all have one of these, if not ,see Kerry!

Keep the training up each day as we draw closer to AG Day (Friday 18th Oct). The more time spent with your lamb the better the bond. Remember to check out the video on Facebook to see what’s expected of you and your lamb in the ring on the day! All lamb registration forms must be back by Monday at the latest please.

Sickness Roll on Summer! We currently have a few cases of Strep throat and so please do have your child checked by a doctor if suffering with a sore throat. This infection spreads easily! From the Board of Trustees Diary

Next Board Meeting: Thurs 19th Sept Whanua Hui: Your Childs Developing Body (Dave Cooper - Physio) : Wed 18th Sept BOT Working Bee : Date to be advised The New Board have hit the ground running. They have undertaken a lot of training over the last few months to help them understand their roles and re-sponsibilities as Trustees. I, for-one, appreciate their time and efforts. As a Board we have been focusing a lot on Student Achievement (our highest priority). We appreciate our teachers (who often go above and be-yond their duty), and senior management. We have every confidence that they have your child's achieve-ment as their foremost priority. I have made it a per-sonal goal to try to understand their role. It's a tough gig but they all do it with passion and skill. As a parent I appreciate how we fret and worry and want the best for our children. Please continue to work with your teachers, (and senior management) talk to them, vol-unteer to help out in class. Together as a community we can achieve great things for our kids.

Art Centre - coming along nicely! We would like to recognise Nick Curnow and Karl Greenland who lev-eled out the area by the Art Centre BY HAND (this thank-you is long overdue fellas - apologies) and also Lee Larman, Larman Construction and Jared Thomson - who have given of their time and advice and expertise to help us finish the Art Centre.

Lost Shed Unfortunately we lost our temporary metal shed during the high winds (that’s why the loose parts equipment is on the deck) during the weekend. We will be trying to source a replacement over the next few weeks.

New Entrant Cubbyholes We will be replacing the bag hook system slowly with cubbyholes. I personally prefer cubbyholes, as they are safer and allow kids to store things like shoes and water bottles.
