A review of various community feedback methods (ICE, Facebook, emails, etc.) for the month of Jan 2014 has identified the following issues of general interest to the community. The purpose of this brief is to provide further clarification to those comments.

• Issue 1: The dryers at the 24 hour laundry mat on Zama need to be maintained at the functional level plus the facility itself is unsanitary.

• Issue 2: All pet owners should be responsible for cleaning up feces, some of them have not complied with the rules by the housing division.

• Issue 3: Command Channel not being updated in a timely manner.

Family and MWR

MWR recently implemented a new maintenance and cleaning plan to mitigate dysfunctional and unsanitary conditions at the Zama Laundromat. Improvements in cleanliness should now be apparent to our customers. We ask for patron feedback as we continue to strive for betterments in our programs and services.

It is recognized that many individuals desire to have pets. However, with the privilege of owning a pet comes the responsibility not only to protect and

properly care of their pet(s), but also to preserve and protect the safety and welfare of the community. It is the policy of this command the private property

rights are subordinate to public rights to be safe and free from nuisances.

The pet policy is directive in nature and U.S. personnel may face disciplinary/administrative actions for violations thereof. Violations may result

in losing the privilege of living in government housing.

Issue 2All pet owners should be responsible for cleaning

up feces, controlling pets behavior.

Per USAG-J Regulation 40-650, para f:

•If kept outside, the pet's area will be policed daily to prevent a buildup of trash and fecal material.

•Animals will be moved frequently enough to prevent filthy conditions and/or damaging government property.

•All chains, collars, doghouses, and feeding utensils will be kept clean and in good repair.

Command Channel not being updated.

Due to constraints and actual control over our systems we were unable to updateinformation in real-time on our command channel without physically being present in the office or building that utilizes our NIPERNET.

With that said we are working on solutions to mitigate this problem. There were two lines of scrolls at the top and bottom of the screens. The scrolling text on the bottom command channel did tell the community where to go to get updated information.

We made a firm decision prior the snow fall that the most effective way to reach our community was to utilize facebook as the means of communication. Which proved very effective. This also helped us to communicate information and messaging to other military communities as well.
