Communication between parent and teacher is an essential priority. The parent exchange form provides an opportunity to facilitate two-way communication between home and school. Your childʼs teacher used this information on September 23 to help them prepare for your childʼs year of learning and your parent-teacher conference. Our hope for fall conferences is to begin the year by setting attainable and challenging goals for your childʼs learning based on multiple points of data. The purpose of the first conference is to give parents and teachers time to set goals and develop strategies and approaches that meet the needs of each student. When students are successful at setting and reaching goals, they feel good about themselves. We hope the following tips are helpful to you as you prepare for your childʼs conference: Plan ahead, Ask your child if there is anything he/she would like you to bring up during the conference. You may want to write down any questions you have on a piece of paper. Think of yourself as a partner with the teacher. You can work together to come up with ideas and goals to help your child achieve success in and out of school. Please come at your scheduled time. If the teacher is engaged in a conference at your scheduled time, knock on the door to let the teacher know you are there. Finally, discuss the details of the conference with your child. Let your child know that everyone has strengths and areas for growth. We value your thoughts regarding your childʼs learning. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us, or your childʼs teacher. Sincerely, Matt Melamed David Dinsmore Visit us on the web @ http://ww2.d46.org/school-pc.asp
